The Head of Finance & Accounts will lead all accounting functions at JC International, guaranteeing precise financial reporting, adherence to regulatory standards, and forward-thinking financial strategy. We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join our team, where you will play a pivotal role in driving key initiatives and delivering exceptional results. Your responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of tasks, including strategic planning, project execution, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure organizational objectives are met. Additionally, you will be tasked with analyzing data, identifying trends, and presenting actionable insights to senior leadership. Strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential. Responsible for ensuring the meticulous preparation, precision, and punctual submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in strict adherence to regulatory requirements and accounting standards.

Oversee the general ledger by maintaining and reconciling it to ensure precise documentation of every financial transaction.

Compile and deliver comprehensive financial analyses, projections, and performance evaluations to leadership teams to support strategic decision-making processes.

Monitor and assess financial data to detect emerging trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for enhancement.

Guide departmental heads through the annual budgeting process, ensuring collaborative planning and alignment with organizational goals.

Monitor budget execution, analyze discrepancies, and propose corrective actions to ensure fiscal alignment and efficiency.

Develop and execute strategies aimed at reducing expenses and enhancing operational effectiveness.

Guarantee the prompt submission of tax returns and settlement of statutory obligations, including those with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Lagos Inland Revenue Service (LIES), pension contributions, and the National Housing Fund (NHF), among others.

To establish and maintain robust internal controls that protect company assets and mitigate the risk of fraudulent activities.

Coordinate and facilitate both internal and external audits, driving timely remediation of any identified findings to uphold compliance and operational standards.

Ensure adherence to all applicable financial regulations and internal company policies.

Oversee cash flow management, banking activities, and partnerships with financial institutions to ensure seamless financial operations and compliance with institutional policies.

Ensure that working capital is continuously monitored to maintain sufficient liquidity for both operational needs and project execution.

Assess potential investments and provide strategic guidance to management regarding funding approaches.

Ensure the proficient utilization of accounting software and ERP systems to facilitate precise reporting and analytical insights.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science (BSC) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting or Finance.

Professional certification from recognized bodies such as ICAN or ARCA—or their equivalents—is an essential requirement for this role.

A minimum of eight years of progressive accounting experience is required, including at least three years in a senior management capacity.

Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, with a strong history of delivering accurate and insightful results.

Proven expertise in leadership, analytical thinking, and effective communication.
