The role encompasses the entire spectrum of the data and AI lifecycle, beginning with data architecture and pipeline design, progressing through model development, and extending to deployment and monitoring.

Who You Will Do
Lead the strategic design and implementation of robust data infrastructure, advanced AI models, and cutting-edge intelligent systems to support Bulk Africa’s diverse platforms and programs.
Develop robust, production-grade AI systems by shepherding projects from initial concept through full deployment, ongoing monitoring, and continuous refinement.
Design robust, scalable data architectures while ensuring they remain reliable and thoroughly documented.
Apply cutting-edge machine learning, natural language processing, and artificial intelligence agent frameworks to address tangible challenges within innovation ecosystems and enterprise environments.
Offer expert technical guidance and mentorship to the Associate Data & AI Engineer, fostering a disciplined and growth-oriented team culture.
Deliver research, strategic insights, and advisory deliverables that embody the Bulk AI Lab brand for clients, collaborators, and the wider innovation community.
Partner with product, program, and engineering teams to strategically integrate AI capabilities where they deliver the highest impact.
What You Bring
With at least five years of direct, practical involvement in data engineering, machine learning, or applied AI, you bring substantial expertise to the role.
Demonstrated success in progressing AI solutions from conceptualization to full-scale production deployment, coupled with a commitment to ongoing maintenance and optimization.
Proficient in designing robust data architecture frameworks, developing advanced analytical models, and implementing efficient deployment pipelines.
Proficiency in natural language processing, conversational AI frameworks, or AI agent development constitutes a significant asset for this role.
The capacity to articulate intricate AI concepts in an understandable manner for both technical and non-technical stakeholders is essential.
