Job Summary:

The ART nurse collaborates closely with clinicians to facilitate the seamless integration of ART service delivery within the facility. Additionally, they provide direct support to both the health facility and community-based HIV prevention initiatives while enhancing referral and linkage services.

Oversee and execute key duties and responsibilities essential to the role, including but not limited to managing daily operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, and maintaining high standards of performance in all assigned tasks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives, streamline workflows, and enhance productivity. Monitor progress toward goals, address challenges proactively, and provide actionable insights to support data-driven decision-making. Serve as a liaison between leadership and staff to facilitate clear communication, resolve conflicts, and foster a positive and inclusive work environment. Additionally, adhere to all safety protocols, uphold ethical standards, and ensure adherence to relevant regulations and industry best practices.

Working in partnership with the facility medical officer, clinicians, pharmacists, laboratory team, traditional birth attendants (Teas), and mentor mothers, the incumbent is tasked with ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based antiretroviral therapy (ART), prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT), prevention, and tuberculosis (TB) services.

Deliver comprehensive HIV testing services along with tailored counseling for expectant and nursing mothers.

Facilitate the early detection and ongoing monitoring of HIV in infants exposed to the virus.

Assist in maintaining mother-baby pairs within care programs to ensure consistent engagement and continuity of services.

Provide guidance and assistance to fellow healthcare professionals to enhance their skills and performance.

Engage in various training sessions, attend meetings, and pursue professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Develop and scale up PITCH within the designated healthcare facilities.

Delivers expert nursing care, including specialized procedures such as wound dressing changes, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and patient safety standards.

Administers medications as prescribed, adhering strictly to the authorized scope of practice defined by the licensee’s professional credentials.

Deliver adherence counseling services while enhancing treatment literacy among clients.

Participates in team meetings as scheduled or when called upon to contribute.

May serve as a team lead within the facility, providing support and oversight in the delivery and management of patient care.

Accurately documents patient charts and administers medications in strict adherence to established protocols.

Delivers comprehensive educational support to patients and their families, ensuring all pertinent health information is clearly communicated and understood.

Comply rigorously with established infection prevention and control protocols at all times.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong capabilities in teamwork and leadership.

Demonstrates sound judgment and effective decision-making capabilities in all professional contexts.

Maintains strict adherence to patient confidentiality protocols at all times.

Communicates any noteworthy alterations in the patient’s physical condition promptly to the Registered Nurse and/or attending healthcare provider.

Develop and maintain productive connections and seamless referrals for patients internally and externally to the facility.

Collaborate closely with the prevention coordinator to provide supervision for community program staff, ensuring targets are met while facilitating the timely preparation and distribution of reports.

Maintain precise and prompt documentation of all services administered. Finalize registers, electronic medical records (EMR’s), and reporting instruments as required.

Conduct operational research initiatives to address critical inquiries pertaining to AHF’s treatment and prevention programs.

Performs all additional tasks assigned by the supervisor as required.

Education and Experience: We seek candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline, complemented by at least three years of professional experience in a comparable role. Candidates with an advanced degree or specialized certifications will be preferred. Additionally, prior experience in project management, data analysis, or strategic planning is highly advantageous.

A university graduate with a degree in nursing or a comparable field is required.

Seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Midwife (RM) who possesses additional certifications and brings a minimum of five years of professional experience to the role.

Minimum of three years of hands-on experience in leading and overseeing HIV program initiatives.

Proficiency in Nigeria’s Minimum Prevention Package is imperative.

Must demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and the ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Capable of producing clear, concise reports and conveying information with precision and professionalism.

Professional version:
Strong commitment to ethical practices and the protection of sensitive information regarding clients living with HIV/AIDS is essential.

We require strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
