The ICU Nurse delivers advanced, critical care to patients with high-acuity needs, ensuring continuous observation, prompt interventions, and compassionate emotional support for both patients and their families. Key duties encompass evaluating patient statuses, administering prescribed medications and therapies, operating ventilators and other essential life-saving devices, and maintaining precise, thorough documentation of all care activities in patient records.

The ICU Nurse will work in partnership with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to create and execute customized care plans, address urgent medical situations, and engage in collaborative clinical rounds.

The position entails upholding infection control protocols, verifying the proper and safe operation of medical equipment, instructing patients and their families on care plans, and contributing to quality improvement efforts.

This position entails a full-time commitment requiring on-site presence in Lagos.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience is required, along with a minimum of three years of professional experience in a similar role. Proficiency in data analysis, project management, and proficiency with industry-standard software tools is essential. Strong problem-solving skills, exceptional communication abilities, and the capacity to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams are necessary. Familiarity with regulatory compliance and quality assurance standards is also needed. Prior experience in a leadership or mentorship capacity is advantageous.

A solid grounding in comprehensive nursing practices, encompassing patient evaluation, medication distribution, and the development of individualized care strategies, is essential.

Demonstrated expertise in Critical Care Nursing and Critical Care Medicine is required, with a proven ability to manage patients experiencing critical illness.

Proficiency in Emergency Nursing and Medicine is required, enabling swift response to critical, life-threatening situations.

A valid, active registered nurse (RN) license with no disciplinary issues, along with specialized ICU or critical care certification—or a commitment to pursue certification in this field—is required.

Skilled in operating ICU monitoring devices, ventilators, and electronic medical record systems.

Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal skills, collaborates effectively within team environments, and excels at resolving challenges with a composed demeanor, even in high-pressure situations.

Demonstrates unwavering dedication to ethical practices, prioritizing patient-centered care while strictly adhering to infection prevention and safety guidelines.

International-standard or tertiary facility experience is highly advantageous, as is prior work in an ICU or other high-acuity hospital settings.
