A prominent and rapidly expanding supermarket chain with several locations throughout Lagos State is in search of a seasoned, strategic, and results-oriented Regional Manager to supervise the operations and performance of multiple branches within a designated region.
The preferred candidate should possess extensive experience within the financial industry, coupled with outstanding leadership skills and a demonstrated capacity to evaluate financial and operational metrics to enhance business expansion and profitability. In this role, the chosen individual will oversee Branch Managers as their direct Line Manager and deliver strategic guidance to the Board and Executive Leadership.
Requirements
A minimum of ten years of relevant senior management experience is required, ideally within the financial services, retail, banking, FMCG, or another structured industry.
A bachelor’s degree or higher national diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Management or a related field is required. Professional credentials such as an MBA or other relevant qualifications will be considered beneficial.
Proven expertise in financial management and analytical capabilities, enabling the interpretation of financial statements, recognition of key trends, and formulation of strategic business recommendations.
Demonstrated expertise in overseeing multiple business units, branch offices, or operational sites is essential.
An outstanding ability to lead, manage teams, mentor individuals, and enhance performance is essential.
Outstanding proficiency in communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management is required.
Oversee and execute critical responsibilities integral to the role, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational standards. This includes managing core functions with precision, driving key initiatives forward, and maintaining high performance across assigned tasks to contribute to overall team and company success. Additionally, the position involves collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, adhering to established protocols, and consistently delivering results that meet or exceed expectations.
Offer strategic direction and comprehensive governance across all branches in the designated region, ensuring alignment with business goals and the attainment of performance benchmarks.
Oversee Branch Managers directly and guarantee the successful execution of corporate policies, operational benchmarks, and strategic directives.
Conduct a comprehensive review of financial, operational, and sales reports generated by branch locations, then formulate strategic, data-driven recommendations for Management and the Board aimed at optimizing profitability and strengthening overall business performance.
Analyze and track regional sales performance, oversee operating expenditures, manage inventory levels, and evaluate branch profitability to ensure operational efficiency and financial health.
Devise and execute strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing revenue streams, optimizing expenditures, elevating customer satisfaction, and streamlining operational processes for heightened efficiency.
Maintain adherence to company policies, regulatory mandates, internal controls, and risk management protocols at every branch location.
Regularly conduct branch visits, operational audits, and performance evaluations to pinpoint areas for enhancement and maintain compliance with established standards.
Partner with Internal Audit, Finance, Operations, Human Resources, and other key departments to advance organizational goals effectively.
Guide, coach, and nurture Branch Managers and other critical staff members to cultivate an exceptional and high-performing team.
Compile and deliver regular business performance reports, financial analyses, and strategic proposals to Executive Management and the Board.
Analyze market opportunities, track emerging trends, and assess competitive threats in the retail sector to propose strategic business initiatives.
