UNICEF Nigeria is recruiting a Senior International Consultant to conduct an in-depth, evidence-based Gender Equality Programmatic Review (GPR). This assessment will evaluate the current landscape, identify critical gaps and opportunities, and map strategic pathways to enhance gender integration within UNICEF Nigeria’s programming and operational frameworks. The resulting insights will directly inform the strategic direction of the forthcoming Country Program spanning 2028 to 2032.
Key outputs will encompass a Desk Review Report, a Draft Mission Agenda, a Preliminary Findings Presentation, a Debrief Slide Deck, a draft Gender Policy and Results (GPR) Report with a Summary of Agreed Gender Equality Priorities, a finalized GPR Report, and a draft Gender Action Plan. These deliverables will guide the Strategic Moment of Reflection scheduled for early September.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics, along with at least three years of professional experience in a related role. Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or C++ is essential, and familiarity with data structures and algorithms is required. Additionally, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are necessary. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are also expected to effectively convey technical concepts.
An advanced university degree, specifically a Master’s, in Gender Equality Studies, International Development, Social Sciences, Public Health, or a closely related field is required.
Demonstrates a proven track record of professional experience, with a focus on roles that align with the position’s core responsibilities and industry standards. Brings hands-on expertise in executing key tasks and leveraging relevant skills to drive measurable outcomes in past positions. Exhibits adaptability and problem-solving capabilities through varied work environments and challenges encountered throughout a career.
With a minimum of eight years of hands-on experience in gender equality programming or research, you possess robust technical expertise in the field.
Seasoned professionals with a track record of assisting national program teams in conducting gender equality and/or social inclusion assessments or evaluations are encouraged to apply.
