Job Summary

The Associate will deliver technical assistance to the programs team for all deliverables specified by HSDF’s client.

The candidate will lead various projects and project workstreams spanning diverse health and social sector domains.

The candidate should be a seasoned business professional who can adeptly oversee and execute programmatic objectives with decisiveness and precision, ensuring optimal business performance.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to oversee a range of critical operational duties, ensuring seamless workflow and adherence to company standards. The role encompasses managing daily tasks, coordinating team efforts, and maintaining meticulous records to support organizational efficiency. Additionally, the position requires collaborating with cross-functional departments to streamline processes, address challenges, and drive continuous improvement. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are essential. Prior experience in a similar capacity is preferred, along with proficiency in relevant software tools. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational abilities, effective communication, and a proactive approach to achieving business objectives.

Plans and oversees assigned projects or project workstreams from initiation to completion, which involves coordinating workflows, establishing and documenting work plans and status updates, and performing quality assessments on all deliverables and reports. Additionally, this role designs comprehensive operational strategies to achieve program objectives while proactively identifying and executing opportunities for HSDF to enhance value and amplify its impact.

Engages collaboratively in team and client problem-solving discussions while assisting in the coordination of client engagements, workshops, and the creation of documents and reports.

Conducts thorough research, produces insightful analyses, and offers strategic advisory services to enhance HSDF’s knowledge base and support project initiatives.

Deliver regular program updates to diverse stakeholders, covering strategy, adjustments, and progress.

Foster strategic alliances and collaborations with essential stakeholders at State, National, and International levels. Collaborate closely with the communications team to craft high-quality knowledge materials, visuals, and project narratives.

Researches and identifies grant funding opportunities that align with the organization’s mission to both initiate new programs and sustain existing ones. Develops draft proposals and responses for emerging areas of opportunity and fulfills requests as needed; introduces innovative concepts and pinpoints prospects for broadening the scope of work and launching new projects.

Manages all technical components requested by the client, including cost analysis, financial modeling, and other specialized tasks as needed.

Executes additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience is required. At least three years of experience in a comparable role is essential. Strong problem-solving capabilities and analytical thinking are crucial. Proficiency in industry-specific tools and software is necessary. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are expected. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with meticulous attention to detail is a must. Familiarity with regulatory compliance and best practices in the field is beneficial. Prior leadership or mentoring experience is a plus.

The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive array of qualifications, technical proficiencies, and behavioral competencies.

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required, with a master’s degree considered advantageous.

With a minimum of six years of hands-on experience in public health advisory or management consulting roles, you bring a proven track record of delivering strategic guidance and operational solutions in complex healthcare environments. Your expertise spans advising stakeholders, optimizing health systems, and driving impactful initiatives that enhance public health outcomes through data-driven insights and collaborative leadership.

Proficient in data collection, analysis, and interpretation, with a keen ability to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets.

Possesses advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with particular expertise in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Fluent English, both in speech and writing, is essential, enabling you to craft meticulously researched documents on intricate topics for varied audiences, articulate arguments persuasively, and communicate ideas with precision and clarity.

Proficient command of a foreign language is considered an additional asset.

Must demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues within a participative management framework, thriving in both independent and team-based settings.

Able to independently identify opportunities for improvement and propose effective solutions to obstacles and challenges as they arise.

Proficient in operating within the Northern region and effectively collaborating with key stakeholders.

Proven ability to leverage advanced analytical methodologies to assess and enhance the effectiveness of public health and social sector initiatives.

Demonstrates a strong understanding of cultural, social, and political dynamics in Nigeria and other low- and middle-income countries, including diverse governmental contexts.

Demonstrates exceptional proficiency in organizing tasks and managing projects efficiently.
