The Logistics Assistant/Driver will oversee maintenance and repair tasks for MDM premises and operate MDM vehicles, working under the guidance of the Logistics and Supply Manager while maintaining direct technical coordination with the Logistics Coordinator.

The incumbent will ensure the proper upkeep and operational efficiency of MDM facilities by performing a range of maintenance duties, including equipment servicing, outdoor area maintenance, assessing repair requirements, and addressing maintenance requests related to electrical, plumbing, carpentry, furniture, and other areas. Additionally, the role involves operating MDM vehicles in compliance with established MDM procedures.

The successful applicant should demonstrate proficiency and technical expertise, paired with strong analytical problem-solving abilities. They must exhibit meticulous organization, along with comprehensive general repair capabilities and reliable driving proficiency. Perform a comprehensive range of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical repair tasks as required.

The position requires overseeing and maintaining accurate inventory levels, ensuring timely replenishment of stock, and minimizing discrepancies through regular audits. You will be responsible for tracking inventory movements, forecasting demand to prevent shortages or excesses, and collaborating with procurement teams to optimize supply chain efficiency. Additionally, the role involves coordinating with warehouse staff to facilitate smooth order fulfillment and addressing any supply-related issues promptly to support operational continuity. Proficiency in inventory management software and strong analytical skills are essential for success in this role.

Verify and document received goods, then ensure they are properly stored, all under the guidance of the Logistics and Supply Manager.

Frequently perform physical inventory counts to verify stock levels.

Upon receipt of an order, the individual will verify the quantity of packages, inspect both the packaging and its contents, and promptly report any discrepancies—such as missing or damaged items—to the Logistics and Supply Manager.

Upon receiving items, promptly update the stock cards by entering the receipt document’s reference number and store the goods according to the guidelines provided by the Logistics and Supply Manager.

Maintain adequate stock levels of high-demand merchandise throughout the store.

Ensure all items are meticulously organized, securely stored, properly identified, and readily accessible while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safeguarding against unauthorized access.

Skilled drivers must prioritize both passenger safety and the secure transport of materials and equipment while operating vehicles.

In compliance with MDM driving regulations, this role ensures adherence to all applicable standards and guidelines to maintain safe and efficient driving practices. The position requires a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and the implementation of protocols to mitigate risks and enhance operational safety. Responsibilities include monitoring compliance, conducting regular audits, and addressing any deviations promptly to uphold the highest standards of professional driving conduct.

Adapting behavior and driving techniques to ensure the safety of passengers, MDM equipment, and all other road users—including drivers and pedestrians—remains a top priority.

Ensure strict compliance with the Nigerian Highway Code and adhere diligently to all posted speed limits at all times while operating the vehicle.

Ensure compliance with safety protocols by consistently wearing a seatbelt while operating the vehicle and verifying that all passengers adhere to the same requirement.

A valid driving license must be held at all times and presented promptly upon any inspection.

To guarantee the validity and timely renewal of all required documents, including the annual roadworthiness inspection and the registration of primary drivers with the rental company, prior to their expiration.

Responsible for ensuring the vehicle remains in optimal operating condition through regular inspections, timely repairs, and adherence to maintenance schedules. This includes performing routine checks on mechanical components, addressing any issues promptly, and coordinating with service providers when necessary to maintain safety and efficiency standards.

Regularly inspecting the vehicle’s engine, oil levels, brake fluid, tire pressure, and windshield washer fluid is essential to ensure optimal performance and safety.

In the event of a technical issue or maintenance requirement, it is essential to promptly notify the immediate supervisor to ensure timely resolution and minimize operational disruptions.

After validating the direct supervisor’s approval, performing or, if feasible, arranging all required maintenance tasks is essential.

The vehicle must be maintained in pristine condition, both internally and externally, through thorough cleaning and upkeep.

The vehicle must be equipped with all required tools and materials, including but not limited to spare wheels, airlifts, belts, and ropes, and these items must be maintained in proper working order.

Each refill is conducted when the fuel level reaches precisely half of the tank’s total capacity.

Other Responsibilities include fulfilling additional duties as assigned by management, collaborating with cross-functional teams to support organizational objectives, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures, participating in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge, and contributing to special projects or initiatives to drive continuous improvement. Additionally, the role may involve handling confidential information with discretion, representing the company in external engagements, and supporting colleagues to foster a positive work environment.
