This is a hybrid position requiring the selected individual to work on-site for a minimum of 3–4 days per week. The role will be based at our Academy located in Granada, Lagos State.
Instruct students in various subjects, including pattern drafting, garment construction, sewing techniques, fabric knowledge, and fundamental aspects of the fashion business.
Devise and refine instructional strategies within the academy’s curriculum to guarantee student attainment of learning objectives and alignment with industry benchmarks.
Oversee practical training sessions, workshops, and student-led projects. Offer constructive feedback on garment fittings, necessary corrections, and final finishing touches.
Evaluate student performance, provide individualized mentorship, and assist students in developing industry-specific portfolios to facilitate professional placements.
You are responsible for upholding classroom discipline, monitoring student attendance, and ensuring the safe and proper maintenance of studio equipment and machinery.
Design and administer assignments, assessments, and culminating projects to evaluate student progress. Evaluate and score student submissions with fairness and impartiality while maintaining consistent grading standards.
To ensure the course content remains pertinent for both Nigerian and diaspora markets, it is essential to continuously monitor evolving fashion trends, methodologies, and tools.
JOB REQUIREMENT
A bachelor’s degree or recognized professional certification in Fashion Design, Clothing & Textile, or a closely related field is required.
Seeking candidates with a minimum of two to three years of practical experience in fashion design.
Proficiency in both manual and industrial sewing machinery, pattern development, grading techniques, and couture-level finishing methods is essential.
Proficiency in fashion illustration design tools and fabric painting techniques is considered beneficial.
Effective communication skills, a patient demeanor when working with novices, a creative mindset, and a strong capacity to inspire students are essential.
Must demonstrate a portfolio of sample garments or collections that you have personally designed and crafted.
