As a cook at a boarding school, your responsibilities include preparing wholesome, large-scale meals for students and staff while ensuring strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and dietary standards. This position encompasses menu development, bulk ingredient prep, inventory oversight, and maintaining an immaculate kitchen environment, with a schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
Oversee and execute a range of critical duties and obligations as part of this role, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational standards. Key responsibilities include leading strategic initiatives, managing cross-functional teams, and driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity. Additionally, the position demands meticulous attention to detail in analyzing data, preparing comprehensive reports, and presenting actionable insights to stakeholders. Food Preparation: Develop and prepare nutritious, flavorful, and visually appealing meals tailored to meet the dietary needs of large student and faculty groups.
We customize recipes and prepare alternative dishes to accommodate students with allergies, religious dietary restrictions, or medical requirements.
Ensure meticulous compliance with health and safety regulations by rigorously overseeing food storage protocols, maintaining precise temperature control, and performing thorough cleaning of the kitchen, dining hall, and all equipment.
Assist in the procurement and oversight of inventory, including the receipt of food deliveries, tracking stock levels, and implementing strategies to minimize food waste.
Collaborate closely with the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager to synchronize meal preparation schedules with the school’s daily bell schedule.
