Job Summary
The Policy Support Intern will assist the Policy & Evidence-to-Action team in driving evidence-based policymaking and fostering stakeholder engagement within IPA Nigeria’s key sectors, with a focus on Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE), financial inclusion, gender, governance, social protection, and inclusive development.
This position offers practical exposure to policy research, evidence synthesis, stakeholder engagement, strategic convening, and the translation of evidence into actionable policy within a globally focused research and policy institution.
Oversee a wide range of duties encompassing strategic planning, operational execution, and team leadership, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and fostering a high-performance culture. Assist in crafting policy briefs, evidence summaries, concept notes, presentations, and technical reports to facilitate informed decision-making and strategic planning.
Contribute to translating research outcomes into actionable policy recommendations and programmatic strategies tailored for government entities and sector stakeholders.
Facilitate the alignment of pertinent policies, frameworks, stakeholders, and institutional entities across designated sectors.
The position involves fostering relationships with stakeholders and providing assistance in policy-related matters to ensure alignment and effective communication across all levels. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required. Minimum of five years of experience in software development is essential. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is mandatory. Familiarity with web development frameworks like React or Angular is strongly preferred. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are critical. Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders are necessary. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is a plus.
A degree or academic background in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Development Studies, Public Health, Gender Studies, International Development, Social Sciences, or closely related disciplines is required.
