Job Summary

The Warehouse Manager oversees all inventory and warehouse operations, maintaining precise inventory records, adhering to internal control policies, and leading warehouse staff effectively.

This position entails formulating inventory control strategies, managing stock reconciliation processes, compiling comprehensive inventory reports, and delivering data-driven insights to enhance both financial and operational decision-making.

Oversee a wide range of critical duties encompassing strategic planning, team leadership, and operational execution to ensure organizational success. Guide departmental initiatives, foster collaboration among cross-functional teams, and maintain alignment with company-wide objectives. Monitor performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement data-driven solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity. Inventory management and the precision of financial records are critical responsibilities, requiring meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate stock levels and compliance with accounting standards. This role involves overseeing the tracking, reporting, and reconciliation of inventory data while maintaining alignment with financial documentation to support operational efficiency and regulatory adherence. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in inventory management systems are essential to identify discrepancies, optimize stock levels, and mitigate financial risks associated with inventory inaccuracies.

Ensure all inbound, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, and returns operations adhere to company policies and internal control standards.

Implement the FEFO/FIFO methodologies and conduct cycle counts to maintain precise inventory valuation accuracy.

Conduct weekly, monthly, and unannounced physical inventory counts to maintain precise tracking of stock levels and facilitate prompt reporting of inventory balances.

Oversee daily cycle count reconciliations and complete stock takes, conducting thorough variance investigations and promptly reporting any discrepancies to the operations manager.

Responsible for managing documentation and overseeing transaction processing activities to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all related operations. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain precise records while facilitating the timely completion of financial and administrative transactions.

Oversee the preparation of Goods Received Notes (GRNs), ensure accurate discrepancy reporting, and execute inventory adjustments in accordance with the established approval hierarchy.

Ensure all mandatory logs—including access, goods receipt, dispatch, maintenance, and cycle count records—are consistently maintained to provide comprehensive audit trail support.

Ensure thorough documentation of stock items that are damaged, expired, or moving slowly to facilitate accurate financial provisioning.

Internal Controls & Process Improvement: Enhance the organization’s operational efficiency by identifying, assessing, and strengthening internal controls to mitigate risks, ensure compliance, and drive process optimization. Develop and implement tailored frameworks and best practices to streamline workflows, eliminate redundancies, and improve accuracy across departments. Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate current processes, recommend targeted improvements, and monitor the effectiveness of implemented changes, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.

Oversee and enhance warehouse operations and procedures to boost inventory precision and streamline overall productivity.

Maintain the precision of inventory records within the ERP system while identifying and recommending enhancements to existing processes.

Uphold unwavering professionalism while demonstrating resilience and composure under tight deadlines, particularly during critical periods such as month-end and year-end stock reconciliations.

Collaborate with operations, sales, accounting, and other departments to enhance financial performance and meet organizational objectives.

Seeking a highly skilled professional with a proven track record in the field, preferably holding a relevant degree or certification. Candidates must demonstrate at least three years of hands-on experience in a similar role, coupled with a deep understanding of industry best practices. Strong analytical abilities, exceptional problem-solving skills, and meticulous attention to detail are essential. Familiarity with industry-specific tools, software, or methodologies is highly desirable, as is the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in communication and a commitment to continuous learning are also required.

A recognized Nigerian or international university must confer a bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

Professional certification in supply chain management or inventory management is an essential requirement for this role, with credentials such as:

Requires a minimum of three to five years of progressive warehouse or inventory management experience, including at least two years in a leadership position within Nigeria.

Experience in luxury retail or warehousing for high-value goods—particularly cosmetics—is strongly preferred.

Accomplished expertise in overseeing inventory control initiatives, conducting accurate cycle counts, and ensuring precise stock reconciliation procedures.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and manipulate pivot tables, execute Lookups, and perform inventory analysis, is a fundamental requirement for this role.

Proficient in navigating Nigerian regulatory frameworks pertinent to warehousing operations, including compliance with directives from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), standards set by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) for cosmetics and perfumes, and customs documentation protocols for imported luxury goods.

Proficient in navigating Nigerian tax regulations pertaining to inventory write-offs, value-added tax (VAT) on stock, and statutory audit obligations.
