Job Summary
A highly proficient Consultant Obstetrician & Gynecologist is sought to deliver expert care in diagnosing, treating, and managing obstetric and gynecological conditions.
The ideal candidate will be instrumental in providing outstanding maternal and reproductive healthcare, guiding junior clinicians, and advancing clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction through ongoing enhancements.
Oversee key operational duties, ensuring strategic alignment with organizational goals while maintaining high standards of performance and accountability. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and frameworks to enhance efficiency, compliance, and risk management within the role’s scope. Lead cross-functional initiatives, fostering collaboration among teams to drive innovation and achieve measurable outcomes. Monitor progress through regular assessments, providing data-driven insights to stakeholders to inform decision-making and continuous improvement. Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external partners, facilitating clear communication and resolving escalated issues with professionalism and expertise.
Deliver expert consultations, diagnoses, and treatments in the fields of obstetrics and gynecology.
Provide comprehensive care throughout the antenatal, antepartum, and postnatal periods.
Conduct both elective and emergency obstetric and gynecological surgical procedures with precision and expertise.
Engage in ward rounds and collaborative multidisciplinary patient management meetings to ensure comprehensive care coordination.
Provide leadership and guidance to medical officers, resident physicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
Ensure adherence to clinical governance protocols, maintain rigorous quality assurance measures, and uphold stringent patient safety standards throughout all operations.
Ensure medical documentation is maintained with precision and efficiency in a timely manner.
Engage actively in ongoing medical education initiatives, clinical audit processes, and research undertakings to maintain and enhance professional competencies.
Deliver emergency on-call services as necessary to ensure prompt response and resolution to critical situations.
Assist in formulating and executing departmental policies and protocols to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
Requirements
Holders of the Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCG) and/or the Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons (AWACS) in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
Holding a current and valid practicing license issued by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) is required.
A minimum of two years of post-fellowship professional experience is highly desirable.
Proficient in clinical assessment, surgical procedures, and diagnostic techniques, with a comprehensive skill set in each domain.
Proven ability to communicate effectively and build strong interpersonal relationships is essential.
Proven track record in leading teams and managing staff effectively.
