Lipline’s pioneering long-range autonomous drone system has successfully facilitated the delivery of millions of medical products throughout Africa.
We are currently expanding our operations in Nigeria and are in search of a Construction and Deployments Lead to spearhead all construction and deployment initiatives across the country.
This senior position oversees the establishment of Lipline distribution centers nationwide, spearheading in-country teams and fostering operational excellence throughout the entire process—from site acquisition and permitting to construction, vendor management, and final operational handover.
You will serve as the central point of coordination between local teams and global stakeholders across Engineering, Supply Chain, Legal, Regulatory, and Partnerships, ensuring each launch meets Zipline’s global standards while adapting to Nigeria’s regulatory and operational context.
You possess the skills of a builder, a leader, and a systems’ thinker, equipped to manage complexity, foster alignment among diverse stakeholders, and drive results on a large scale.
What You’ll Do
Develop and implement comprehensive deployment strategies for the establishment of every new Lipline distribution center throughout Nigeria, ensuring seamless execution from inception to completion.
Orchestrate cross-functional collaboration between Nigeria-based teams and global stakeholders to facilitate the smooth execution of multiple deployments, consistently aligning with partner expectations.
Collaborate effectively with Nigerian government bodies, regulatory authorities, and municipal agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals while fostering productive professional partnerships.
Explore and secure locations that align with Lipline’s technical, operational, and business specifications.
Develop and oversee a robust network of Nigerian suppliers and contractors, maintaining cost-effectiveness, high standards of quality, and dependable site execution.
Oversee domestic financial planning, scheduling, and resource allocation, strategically balancing urgency, budget constraints, and sustainable operational performance to achieve objectives.
Recruit, mentor, and guide a team of deployment project managers to ensure optimal performance and project success.
Compile and apply insights gained to systematically enhance the global deployment playbook for Lipline.
Deliver concise, evidence-based reports on progress, risks, and performance to senior leadership.
What You’ll Bring
With a minimum of eight years of relevant experience in construction, engineering, or program management—of which at least three years must have been in a leadership capacity—you possess a strong foundation in overseeing complex projects and guiding teams to successful outcomes.
Delivers large-scale, technically complex projects across Nigeria successfully, covering the entire project lifecycle from inception to finalization.
Proven expertise in navigating Nigerian regulatory frameworks, obtaining necessary permits, and engaging with local contractor networks is highly desirable.
Proven track record in leading and cultivating in-country project teams to achieve organizational objectives.
Skilled in overseeing projects and maintaining strong organizational capabilities, with a proven aptitude for prioritizing tasks and making strategic tradeoffs in high-pressure situations.
Proven ability to communicate clearly and build strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring effective representation of Lipline with partners, contractors, and government officials.
Possesses a systems-oriented perspective and demonstrates proficiency in developing scalable processes tailored to specific local conditions.
Thrives in unpredictable, dynamic environments through demonstrated grit, adaptability, and resilience.
Capable of and committed to undertaking travel within Nigeria for over half of the assignment duration.
