A highly skilled and dedicated CRS & History Teacher is required to join our secondary school faculty. The ideal candidate will deliver dynamic lessons in Christian Religious Studies (CRS) and History, fostering students’ academic excellence, moral growth, and character development.
Oversee a comprehensive range of duties centered on strategic planning and operational execution, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives while maintaining high standards of efficiency and accountability. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to optimize workflow, enhance productivity, and drive continuous improvement across assigned functions. Lead cross-functional teams by fostering collaboration, empowering decision-making, and cultivating a culture of innovation and excellence. Monitor performance metrics, analyze data trends, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership to inform strategic initiatives and resource allocation. Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, facilitating clear communication and resolving complex issues with diplomacy and professionalism. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies while mitigating risks and upholding ethical standards.
Perform instructional duties in accordance with established teaching frameworks, approved lesson plans, and institutional policies.
Utilize dynamic, student-focused instructional strategies to deliver Christian Religious Studies (CRS) and History lessons with excellence, fostering an engaging and impactful learning environment.
Develop comprehensive lesson plans, assignments, projects, classroom activities, assessments, and examination materials that strictly adhere to established curriculum standards.
Evaluate students’ learning advancement and offer constructive feedback regarding the efficacy and thoroughness of instructional strategies and teaching plans.
Collaborate with the Remedial Teacher to identify students requiring specialized learning support and jointly formulate tailored intervention plans to address their unique needs.
Maintain a structured and orderly classroom environment by enforcing established disciplinary measures and issuing approved sanctions for minor infractions, while ensuring that significant disciplinary concerns are immediately reported to the Sectional Head for further action.
Deliver compassionate pastoral care while fostering students’ holistic growth—academically, morally, emotionally, and socially.
Accurately and promptly evaluate students’ assignments, tests, projects, and examinations.
Consistently track and communicate updates regarding students’ academic progress, behavior, and accomplishments.
Develop and sustain clear, constructive communication channels with parents or guardians to discuss students’ academic performance and well-being as needed.
Encourage students to embrace positive values, demonstrate ethical conduct, exhibit leadership qualities, and cultivate a sense of responsible citizenship.
Foster a collaborative and cohesive team environment by actively participating in group efforts and promoting a positive, supportive school culture.
Take an active role in staff meetings, school events, professional development sessions, and extracurricular activities to foster collaboration and engagement.
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in Christian Religious Studies, History, Religious Studies, Education Arts, or a closely related field is required.
Holders of the Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) certification are preferred, as this credential validates compliance with national teaching standards and enhances professional credibility.
A minimum of four years of secondary school teaching experience is required.
Possesses a solid understanding of the CRS and History curricula, including key concepts, frameworks, and instructional strategies to effectively deliver lessons.
Demonstrates exceptional ability to maintain structured and productive classroom environments while effectively conveying information and engaging with students.
