Execute the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment while strictly adhering to manufacturer guidelines and corporate standards.
Perform both preventive and condition-based maintenance, as well as address breakdown repairs, on all mechanical equipment.
Maintain, diagnose, and repair mechanical systems to ensure operational reliability while minimizing downtime.
Conduct comprehensive root cause analysis to identify underlying issues contributing to mechanical faults, followed by the development and recommendation of targeted corrective actions to ensure sustained operational reliability.
Examine data and equipment performance records to uncover opportunities for enhancement and increase machine productivity.
Maintain meticulous records of maintenance tasks, equipment safety inspections, and repair documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Work in partnership with control specialists, engineering staff, and production crews to troubleshoot mechanical problems and enhance overall system efficiency.
Ensure unwavering adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout all maintenance and repair activities.
Contribute to the execution of ongoing improvement efforts in the maintenance division.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience is required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential. Proficiency in relevant software applications is a must. Excellent communication and organizational abilities are also required. Experience in project management is preferred. Knowledge of industry regulations and standards is necessary. The ability to work independently and collaboratively is crucial. Attention to detail and a commitment to continuous learning are important traits for this role.
A relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline, such as an HND or B.Sc., is required.
With a minimum of five years of practical experience in mechanical maintenance—ideally within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods sector—you will bring proven expertise to this role.
Proven ability to diagnose and rectify technical issues efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance. Strong analytical skills with a methodical approach to identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions. Experience in resolving complex technical challenges across various platforms and environments.
