Job Summary

The Warehouse Manager oversees all inventory and warehouse operations, maintaining precise inventory records, adhering to internal control policies, and efficiently managing warehouse staff.

This position encompasses the formulation of inventory control strategies, the management of stock reconciliation processes, the preparation of detailed inventory reports, and the delivery of data-driven insights to inform both financial and operational decision-making.

Key responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Additionally, you will be responsible for analyzing performance metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity. Collaborating closely with senior leadership, you will support decision-making processes by providing data-driven insights and recommendations. Furthermore, you will oversee budget planning, allocate resources effectively, and monitor expenditures to maintain cost control. The role also involves fostering a positive work environment, mentoring team members, and promoting professional development to drive employee engagement and retention.

Maintains precise inventory records and ensures the accuracy of financial documentation, overseeing stock levels and transactional data to align with organizational standards.

Responsible for managing all aspects of inbound logistics, inventory storage, order picking, packaging, outbound shipping, and return processing in strict accordance with organizational policies and established internal control measures.

To uphold inventory valuation accuracy, implement and oversee the FEFO (First-Expired, First-Out) and FIFO (First-In, First-Out) methodologies, alongside conducting cycle counts to maintain precise stock records.

Oversee bi-weekly, monthly, and unannounced physical inventory counts to confirm the precision and prompt reporting of stock levels.

Oversee the daily reconciliation of cycle counts and conduct comprehensive stock takes, diligently investigating any variances that arise. Subsequently, report all discrepancies to the operations manager for further action or resolution.

Documentation and transaction processing responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with established protocols, and managing financial or operational data with precision. This role involves systematically verifying transactions, updating documentation in a timely manner, and collaborating with relevant departments to resolve discrepancies and streamline processes. Strong attention to detail, proficiency in data management systems, and adherence to organizational standards are essential for success in this position.

Oversee the preparation of Goods Received Notes (GRNs), identify and report discrepancies, and implement inventory adjustments in accordance with the established approval hierarchy.

Maintain all required logs, including access, goods receipt, dispatch, maintenance, and cycle count records, to ensure comprehensive audit trails.

Maintain accurate records of damaged, expired, and slow-moving inventory to facilitate appropriate financial allocation.

Internal Controls & Process Improvement: Designing, implementing, and maintaining robust internal control frameworks to mitigate risks, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure regulatory compliance. Identifying process inefficiencies through systematic analysis, proposing data-driven solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and improve overall performance. Developing and enforcing policies, procedures, and control activities to safeguard company assets and maintain accurate financial reporting.

Oversee and enhance warehouse operations and methodologies to bolster inventory precision and operational productivity.

Maintain precise inventory records within the ERP system and recommend enhancements to existing processes.

Maintain unwavering integrity and perform effectively under tight deadlines, particularly during critical month-end and year-end stock count periods.

Collaborate with operations, sales, accounting, and other relevant departments to maintain alignment and drive the attainment of company financial goals.

Detail-oriented and highly organized, this role requires exceptional time management skills to oversee diverse responsibilities, including month-end stock takes and reporting cycles, while consistently meeting tight deadlines.

Demonstrates exceptional judgment in making critical decisions related to inventory adjustments, write-offs, and process modifications.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of five years of professional experience in software development, preferably with a focus on cybersecurity or data protection. Proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ is essential, along with experience with secure coding practices and threat modeling. Strong understanding of network security, encryption protocols, and compliance frameworks like GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI DSS is critical. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment are necessary. Prior experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability scanners is highly desirable.

A recognized Nigerian or international university must award a bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

With at least three to five years of progressive experience in warehouse or inventory management, including a minimum of two years in a managerial role within Nigeria, candidates should demonstrate a proven track record in overseeing operations and driving efficiency.

Highly desirable candidates will possess prior experience within luxury retail or warehouse environments specializing in high-value goods, particularly cosmetics.

Accomplished in overseeing inventory management, including inventory control, cycle counting, and stock reconciliation procedures.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including expertise in pivot tables, Lookups, and inventory analysis, is a mandatory requirement for this role.

Proficient in navigating Nigerian regulatory frameworks pertinent to warehousing operations, including adherence to guidelines from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) for cosmetics and perfumes, as well as customs documentation protocols for imported luxury goods.

Must possess a comprehensive understanding of Nigerian tax laws governing inventory write-offs, VAT on stock, and statutory audit obligations.

High ethical standards and a proven capacity to perform effectively in high-pressure environments are essential.
