Responsibilities include rigging, programming, monitoring, repairing, and operating lighting equipment to enhance events and performances, with tasks such as loading in equipment, organizing cables, hanging lights (which may require climbing), and focusing fixtures.
Responsibilities include setting up and managing the lighting system for productions, executing lighting effects according to the Lighting Designer’s specifications, and operating either manual or computer-based control systems during performances.
Evaluating the integrity of wiring configurations and equipment installations to mitigate hazards such as electrical fires or shock risks, while ensuring all lighting apparatus remains operational and secure.
After each performance, equipment must be disassembled and securely stored, while post-production responsibilities include the installation of temporary electrical power systems.
