SPIE Global Services Energy is seeking to bolster its workforce in Nigeria by hiring a seasoned HVAC Senior Technician to integrate into our offshore operations team.

Key Responsibility:

Oversee the comprehensive management of daily operations to ensure seamless workflow execution and alignment with organizational objectives. Develop and implement strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity, efficiency, and overall performance standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster a cohesive work environment, drive project momentum, and achieve key milestones. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess progress, identify areas for improvement, and implement data-driven solutions. Lead and mentor team members to cultivate a high-performing culture, encouraging professional growth and accountability. Ensure strict compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards. Analyze operational challenges and devise innovative strategies to optimize resource allocation and mitigate risks. Serve as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing clear communication, updates, and reporting on project statuses and outcomes.

Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks to ensure optimal functionality and longevity of equipment and systems, addressing any issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency. Conduct inspections, diagnose problems, and execute necessary repairs or replacements using specialized tools and techniques. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, service history, and parts inventory for compliance and future reference. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance schedules and prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact on operations. Follow safety protocols and industry standards to ensure a secure work environment for all personnel.

Service and maintain HVAC systems in control rooms, switchgear rooms, and other critical environments to ensure optimal functionality and environmental conditions.

Uphold control room positive pressure systems to inhibit hydrocarbon gas ingress, ensuring compliance with IEC Ex/ALEX standards.

Maintain, repair, and optimize chillers, packaged units, air handling units, and variable refrigerant flow systems operating in highly corrosive saltwater conditions.

Provide on-call support throughout drilling and production activities.

Experienced professionals are sought to oversee the installation and commissioning phases of projects, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance. Responsibilities include executing precise installation procedures, conducting thorough system checks, and verifying compliance with technical specifications. Candidates must possess a strong background in engineering or a related discipline, along with hands-on experience in field operations. Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, troubleshooting technical issues, and adhering to safety protocols is essential. Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders is required to achieve project milestones and deliverables.

Responsibilities include the installation of new HVAC systems along with the supervision of piping, ductwork, and electrical connections to ensure proper functionality and compliance with safety standards.

Systems are engineered, and performance evaluations are executed prior to transitioning deliverables to the operations team.

Review and analyze mechanical and electrical drawings, PIDs, and HVAC schematics to extract critical information and ensure accurate interpretation of system designs and specifications.

The role requires ensuring adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and compliance standards across all operations. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and maintaining HSE policies and procedures to mitigate risks, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring company-wide compliance with legal and industry-specific requirements. The position demands a strong understanding of HSE frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory frameworks, along with the ability to train employees on compliance protocols. Additionally, the role involves investigating incidents, reporting findings, and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence, while also keeping current with evolving HSE laws and best practices.

Ensure adherence to NU PRC safety standards, ASHRAE guidelines, and the company’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies to maintain operational integrity and regulatory compliance.

Prior to commencing any work on energized equipment, ensure that all necessary permits, including Permit to Work (PTW), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Lockout/Ragout (LOT) procedures, are completed in full compliance with established safety protocols.

Profile

Seeking candidates with hands-on experience in offshore oil and gas production facilities, with a preference for those familiar with Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FASO) units.

Minimum eight years of hands-on experience in the repair and maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration systems is required.

Applicants are required to possess a recognized Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or an equivalent qualification, or have successfully completed an accredited trade apprenticeship or verified technician training program. Additionally, relevant hands-on experience in the field is essential for consideration.

Must demonstrate strong collaborative skills, thriving in team-oriented environments to achieve shared objectives.
