SPIE Global Services Energy seeks to bolster its workforce in Nigeria through the recruitment of a seasoned HVAC Senior Technician to integrate with its offshore operations team.
Key Responsibility:
Overseeing the comprehensive management of daily operations to ensure seamless workflow efficiency, compliance with established protocols, and alignment with organizational objectives. Additionally, this role involves delegating tasks, monitoring performance metrics, and fostering a collaborative team environment to drive productivity and achieve strategic goals.
Responsible for performing maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the proper functioning and longevity of equipment and facilities, conducting routine inspections to identify potential issues, and addressing any malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime. Requires proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, as well as the ability to operate various tools and equipment safely. Must adhere to safety protocols and industry standards while documenting all maintenance activities and repairs performed.
We perform maintenance and repair services for HVAC systems in critical environments, including control rooms, switchgear rooms, and similar facilities.
Maintain control room environments at positive pressure levels in strict accordance with IEC Ex and ALEX standards to prevent the infiltration of hydrocarbon gases.
Maintain and repair chillers, packaged units, air handling units (Thus), and variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems operating in highly corrosive saltwater environments.
Monitor drilling and production operations on a standby basis.
The Installation & Commissioning role involves overseeing the proper setup, integration, and operational verification of systems, equipment, or infrastructure to ensure they meet specified performance standards and client requirements. Responsibilities include conducting thorough on-site installations, configuring components, and performing functional tests to validate system integrity. Candidates must possess technical expertise in relevant tools and methodologies, along with strong problem-solving abilities to address any issues that arise during deployment. Proficiency in adhering to safety protocols and compliance regulations is essential, as is the capacity to collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless execution. Prior experience in installation and commissioning within the relevant industry is typically required.
Professionally installs new HVAC systems while ensuring proper installation and alignment of piping, ductwork, and electrical connections, maintaining compliance with safety and performance standards throughout the process.
Design and implement commissioning systems, ensuring thorough performance testing is conducted prior to their transfer to operations.
Review, analyze, and accurately interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, PIDs, and HVAC schematics to ensure precise understanding and application in all related tasks.
Ensuring adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and regulatory compliance remains a critical responsibility within this role. The position demands rigorous oversight of safety protocols, adherence to legal requirements, and implementation of best practices to mitigate risks and maintain a secure workplace. Key duties include conducting regular inspections, managing compliance documentation, and fostering a culture of safety awareness among employees. Additionally, the role requires staying current with evolving regulations, identifying potential hazards, and recommending corrective actions to uphold organizational integrity and operational excellence.
Ensure adherence to NU PRC safety standards, ASHRAE guidelines, and internal HSE policies to maintain regulatory compliance and operational integrity.
Prior to commencing work on energized equipment, ensure all Permit to Work (PTW), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Lockout/Ragout (LOT) procedures are thoroughly completed.
Profile
Possesses hands-on experience in offshore oil and gas production facilities, with a preference for Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FASO) units.
A minimum of eight years of hands-on experience in repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems is required.
Candidates must possess a recognized Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or an equivalent qualification. Alternatively, completion of an accredited trade apprenticeship or verified technician training program is acceptable. In addition, applicants should have a minimum of relevant work experience in their field.
