Position Overview

We are introducing a premier restaurant concept in Tirana, Albania, seamlessly blending the bold, diverse flavors of Nigeria with the refined sensibilities of European cuisine. Seeking two culinary professionals—an Executive Chef and a Sous/Station Chef—each possessing deep expertise in traditional Nigerian cooking methods while demonstrating the innovation and skill to elevate these dishes for both international diners and the local Nigerian community. You will embody the restaurant’s spirit, serving as the driving force and heartbeat of our kitchen.

Oversee a range of critical duties essential to the role, including managing project timelines, coordinating team efforts, and ensuring adherence to organizational standards. Collaborate with stakeholders to define objectives, allocate resources effectively, and monitor progress toward established goals. Conduct thorough evaluations of workflows to identify inefficiencies and implement strategic improvements that drive productivity. Facilitate communication across departments to align initiatives with broader company objectives while maintaining accountability for deliverables. Additionally, prepare detailed reports to track performance metrics and present actionable insights to leadership for informed decision-making.

Menu Curation: Craft and enhance signature dishes that preserve the authenticity of Nigerian culinary traditions while accommodating diverse global tastes.

Quality and Presentation: Responsible for maintaining and elevating the plating and visual standards of each dish to ensure a high-end, artistic presentation that distinguishes offerings within the competitive European market.

Maintain rigorous hygiene standards, ensure proper stock rotation, and uphold food safety compliance in accordance with HACCP and international regulations.

Operational Excellence: Spearhead the “heart of the house” by instructing local staff in authentic Nigerian culinary techniques, traditional spice blends, and the meticulous art of preparation.

Collaborate closely with the remote management team to maintain a cohesive restaurant brand narrative, ensuring each dish reflects our established identity.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience is mandatory. Candidates must possess at least three years of hands-on experience in the specified industry. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are a must. The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team is necessary.

Professionals should possess a minimum of three to five years of hands-on experience within luxury hotels, upscale resorts, or premium dining establishments.

Technical Mastery: Extensive expertise in the diverse culinary traditions of Nigeria, encompassing region-specific cooking methods such as open-fire grilling, traditional spice preparation, and authentic stew bases.

A valid culinary diploma or degree—preferably internationally recognized certification—is required.

Individuals selected for this role must possess a valid international passport and demonstrate a willingness to relocate to Tirana, Albania, for the duration of the project.

Demonstrates strong leadership by effectively guiding a varied team and remaining composed amidst the intense demands of launching a new restaurant.
