We are unveiling a premier restaurant concept in Tirana, Albania, designed to seamlessly blend the bold, diverse flavors of Nigeria with the refined sensibilities of European dining. We are seeking two accomplished culinary professionals—one Executive Chef and one Sous/Station Chef—who not only possess deep expertise in traditional Nigerian cooking methods but also demonstrate the innovative flair to elevate and reinterpret these dishes for both an international palate and nostalgic Nigerian clientele. You will embody the spirit and authenticity of our kitchen, serving as its public face and creative driving force.
Oversee a range of critical duties, including the development and implementation of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project execution and foster innovation while maintaining adherence to established timelines and budgets. Lead performance evaluations, provide mentorship to team members, and identify opportunities for professional growth and skill enhancement. Monitor key performance indicators to assess progress, recommend corrective actions when necessary, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. Serve as a liaison between senior leadership and operational teams to ensure clear communication and alignment on priorities.
Menu Curation: Craft and enhance signature dishes that preserve the authenticity of Nigerian culinary traditions while appealing to diverse global tastes.
Ensure the plating and visual presentation of every dish meet exceptional standards, delivering high-end, artistic displays that distinguish our offerings in the competitive European dining landscape.
Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, proper stock rotation, and food safety in accordance with HACCP and international regulations.
Operational Excellence: Spearhead the “heart of the house” by educating local staff on authentic Nigerian culinary techniques, signature spice blends, and the refined “art of the prep.”
Partner with the remote management team to uphold and reinforce our restaurant brand’s narrative with every dish presented to guests.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. Minimum of five years of professional experience in a comparable role is mandatory. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools necessary. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail essential. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial. Familiarity with project management methodologies preferred.
Professionals with a minimum of three to five years of hands-on experience in distinguished hotels, luxury resorts, or esteemed fine-dining establishments are encouraged to apply.
Deep expertise in Nigerian regional culinary traditions, encompassing advanced mastery of specialized cooking methods such as open-fire grilling, traditional spice preparation, and authentic stew bases.
Certification: Holds a valid culinary diploma or degree, with recognition from an internationally accredited institution.
Possession of a valid international passport and a willingness to relocate to Tirana, Albania, for the duration of the project are required.
Demonstrates strong leadership skills with a track record of effectively guiding a cross-functional team and remaining composed under the intense demands of a restaurant’s grand opening.
