Job Summary
The WASH Assistant will play a pivotal role in the design, execution, and evaluation of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) initiatives across the state. This position offers practical engagement in community-driven WASH projects, focusing on enhancing access to clean water, fostering hygiene behaviors, and bolstering sanitation conditions in underserved and conflict-affected populations.
The assistant will collaborate closely with the WASH Officer and Program Team to facilitate field operations, community engagement initiatives, data acquisition, monitoring processes, and documentation efforts. Through this role, the incumbent will acquire hands-on experience in development best practices, particularly in community-driven WASH methodologies and public health advocacy.
Oversee and manage daily operations to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to organizational standards, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives. Develop and implement policies and procedures that enhance productivity and maintain high levels of quality control. Monitor performance metrics and generate reports to assess operational effectiveness, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed. Lead and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous development. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies to mitigate risks and uphold operational integrity.
Assist in executing WASH initiatives across project communities, encompassing interventions in water supply, sanitation, and hygiene promotion.
Provide support for community mobilization and engagement initiatives focused on WASH activities, training programs, and sensitization efforts.
Engage in on-site inspections to oversee the operational status and maintenance requirements of WASH infrastructure, including boreholes, latrines, and handwashing stations.
Support the execution of hygiene promotion initiatives, such as community-driven campaigns and educational programs conducted in schools.
Assist in gathering data to establish baselines, track progress, and assess the effectiveness of WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) initiatives.
Assist in preparing documentation of field activities, capturing success stories, lessons learned, and encountered challenges.
Assist in the management and monitoring of WASH supplies and hygiene kits as needed.
Maintain meticulous documentation pertaining to WASH initiatives and associated beneficiary data.
Collaborate effectively with community leaders, local authorities, and key stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of efforts.

Capable of gathering, organizing, and documenting data accurately, with proficiency in compiling and presenting findings in clear, structured reports.
Excellent proficiency in English communication is essential, with fluency in local languages considered advantageous.
Proficiency in fundamental computer applications, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel, is essential.
