Job Summary
The Junior Fiber Backhaul Engineer ensures the physical and logical integrity of the fiber network infrastructure, which links core sites to distribution nodes.
Responsibilities
Assist with the installation and upkeep of fiber optic cabling systems and related distribution infrastructure.
Employ tools such as Optical Time-Domain Reflectometers (ODR) to detect and pinpoint fiber breaks or signal degradation accurately.
Support fiber splicing activities, prepare sites, and maintain infrastructure documentation for upcoming expansion initiatives.
Monitor various environmental factors at remote locations to evaluate their potential effects on fiber performance.
Seeking a candidate with a robust background in core qualifications including a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, a minimum of three years of professional experience in a similar role, and proficiency with key industry-specific tools and software. The ideal applicant will demonstrate strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. A Bachelor’s Degree or a Higher National Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or Telecommunications is required.
