Job Summary
A distinguished Microfinance Bank headquartered in Elite State is in search of a resourceful, driven, and technically adept expert to fill the role of ICT Officer.
The incumbent will report directly to management and oversee the daily administration, operation, and upkeep of the bank’s IT infrastructure. This individual will be tasked with maintaining optimal performance of the Core Banking Application (CBA), enforcing robust information security measures, enhancing network connectivity, and facilitating secure electronic banking channels in compliance with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) IT regulations.
Oversee a comprehensive array of duties encompassing the efficient execution of core operational tasks, strategic project management, and cross-functional collaboration to drive organizational objectives forward. Develop and implement robust policies and procedures that enhance productivity, ensure regulatory compliance, and uphold industry best practices. Lead high-impact initiatives aimed at optimizing workflows, reducing inefficiencies, and fostering innovation within the team. Serve as a pivotal liaison between teams, management, and external stakeholders to facilitate seamless communication, alignment, and goal attainment. Monitor performance metrics, analyze data trends, and generate actionable insights to inform executive decision-making and strategic planning. Manage resource allocation, budget oversight, and procurement processes to maximize cost-effectiveness and operational sustainability. Mentor and coach team members to cultivate talent, enhance skill development, and reinforce a high-performance culture. Ensure adherence to safety protocols, risk management frameworks, and compliance standards to mitigate potential liabilities and safeguard organizational integrity.
Responsibilities include managing the bank’s hardware, servers, operating systems, and software applications through regular configuration, upkeep, and operational oversight to ensure seamless functionality and reliability.
Provide first-level technical assistance for the bank’s Core Banking Application (CBA), overseeing database administration, executing end-of-day (EOD) and end-of-month (EOM) processing tasks, and ensuring the generation of precise data.
Implement and maintain sophisticated network security protocols such as firewalls, antivirus solutions, and access management systems to safeguard the bank’s digital infrastructure against evolving cyber threats.
Execute daily, weekly, and monthly data backup protocols with precision, alongside routinely assessing the bank’s Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) to uphold seamless business continuity.
Monitor and maintain electronic banking channels, agency banking platforms, and POS deployment terminals to guarantee uninterrupted service delivery to customers.
Your responsibilities will include gathering and compiling essential system technical logs and reports ensuring adherence to CBN and FDIC e-rendition compliance frameworks.
Seeking a candidate with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in the field, along with a proven track record of success in similar roles. Proficiency in key industry software and tools is essential, as are strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The ideal applicant will demonstrate exceptional communication abilities, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with teams and stakeholders. A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent professional experience is required. Additionally, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines is crucial.
A Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field is required.
A minimum of two to four years of post-qualification experience as an IT/ICT Officer in a financial institution is required, with practical exposure to Microfinance Core Banking Applications.
Professional Certifications: Holding recognized IT certifications like CCNA, Compton Security+, GCSE, or ITIL can provide a competitive edge.
Technical Competencies: Expertise in SQL database management, along with proficiency in network administration for both LAN and WAN environments. Additionally, well-versed in Windows and Linux server management, and adept at implementing cybersecurity best practices.
