Purpose of the Role
The NEWS Reporter serves a critical function within the WANED Alert and Response Mechanism (WARM), responsible for collecting, verifying, and reporting accurate, timely, and credible data as part of the National Early Warning System (NEWS).
This role facilitates proactive conflict prevention, peace building, and accountability measures by converting community-level insights into timely, actionable early warning alerts.
Executes a range of critical job functions, including, but not limited to, performing daily operational duties, analyzing data to identify trends and opportunities, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement strategic initiatives, and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. Maintains accurate records, prepares detailed reports, and participates in performance reviews to drive continuous improvement. In addition to these core responsibilities, the role involves managing stakeholder communications, troubleshooting complex issues, and contributing to long-term planning efforts to support organizational objectives. A bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, or a related field is required for this role.
