Primary purpose:
To ensure robust internal control and compliance within the hotel, you will deliver operational support by conducting routine control tests, recording any deviations, facilitating investigations, and overseeing the prompt resolution of remediation measures to safeguard both hotel assets and it’s standing.
Oversee and execute a range of critical responsibilities, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational standards. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and team performance, while fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Manage cross-functional projects, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources effectively to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results. Act as a liaison between departments, facilitating seamless communication and coordination to streamline workflows and achieve common goals. Monitor progress through established metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective measures to optimize outcomes. Additionally, provide guidance and mentorship to team members, supporting their professional growth and development while upholding company policies and compliance requirements.
Daily responsibilities include conducting cash counts, performing spot checks on POS reconciliation, reviewing night audit variances, and verifying petty cash balances across all outlets.
Conduct comprehensive testing of transactional data, including guest folios, credit card settlements, supplier invoices, and payroll entries, to verify accuracy and ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.
Conduct inventory verification activities, including participation in cycle counts for food and beverage (F&B), minibar, and housekeeping stores, while accurately documenting any shrinkage observed and assisting in the implementation of loss prevention strategies.
Review procurement controls to confirm that purchase orders, approval matrices, and vendor documentation comply with established guidelines and effectively mitigate the risk of unauthorized expenditures.
Compliance monitoring involves ensuring adherence to statutory, brand, and corporate standards by maintaining detailed checklists. Additionally, the role requires preparing weekly control reports and promptly escalating any identified exceptions.
Support fraud or discrepancy investigations, facilitate corrective actions, and ensure their proper closure and verification.
Provide foundational control awareness training sessions and support the implementation of policy updates throughout the organization.
Seeking a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, complemented by a minimum of three years of progressive accounting experience. Proficiency in GAAP standards, advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle are essential. Strong analytical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and outstanding communication skills are required to excel in this role. The ideal applicant will demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving, adherence to deadlines, and the capacity to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality, or a closely related discipline is required.
Proficiency in hotel operations, internal audit, or finance for a duration of one to three years is required, with practical experience in PMS/POS systems, such as Opera, being a valuable asset.
Required competencies include meticulous attention to detail, a foundational forensic approach, advanced Excel capabilities, the ability to produce clear and concise written reports, and effective communication with key stakeholders.
Onsite employment is required, involving rotating shift assignments (including weekends and public holidays) to manage outlet operations and audit periods.
