Main Functions
Assess and provide feedback on discipline engineering tasks, whether conducted internally or by Contractors and subcontractors, to verify compliance with project specifications, company standards, and regulatory mandates.
Delivers disciplined engineering and design processes that are fully aligned with the project’s established goals, objectives, and documented procedures.
Ensures precise and prompt information exchange among the Project Team and other organizational functions regarding discipline engineering activities, progress, and challenges. Beyond technical proficiency, candidates must exhibit strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal capabilities.
Oversee and execute various duties and obligations as part of this position, including managing key responsibilities and fulfilling essential tasks to ensure operational success. Handle a range of assignments with precision, adhering to established protocols while maintaining high standards of performance. In addition to the duties and responsibilities associated with Levels 1 and 2, Level 3 encompasses advanced tasks that require a higher degree of expertise and independent decision-making. Professionals at this level are expected to demonstrate proficiency in specialized areas, manage complex projects, and provide strategic guidance to junior team members. This role often involves overseeing critical processes, resolving intricate issues, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Candidates must possess a minimum of five years of relevant experience, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to mentor others effectively. Additionally, exceptional analytical skills and a track record of delivering high-impact results are essential for success in this position.
Manage control system life cycle initiatives, overseeing inventory tracking, obsolescence mitigation strategies, spare parts inventory management, and systematic upgrade or replacement planning.
Support control system maintenance and testing activities as needed, including software upgrades, ESD testing, offline and online testing, as well as coordinating tasks both during and outside of plant shutdowns.
Plays a pivotal role in organizing and overseeing maintenance schedules for metering systems, encompassing custody transfer, allocation, regulatory compliance, and leak detection applications.
Support the planning and coordination of tasks associated with control system cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
Review systems to ensure adherence with the company’s Industrial Control System Requirements (CSR), thereby mitigating potential cybersecurity threats.
Engage collaboratively in comprehensive alarm management initiatives by contributing to cross-functional teams focused on alarm rationalization, priority setting, creation of state-based alarm strategies, and the design or enhancement of alarm systems.
Review, revise, and create comprehensive technical documentation and drawings for instrumentation and control systems, encompassing PIDs, cause-and-effect diagrams, and control narratives.
Facilitate on-site visits to production affiliate offices and facilities to offer hands-on assistance with or implement new global support initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Minimum of three years of experience in software development, with proficiency in at least one programming language, is essential. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is highly desirable. Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and containerization, is preferred. Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills are necessary. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment is crucial. Knowledge of Agile methodologies and project management tools is a plus.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, or relevant professional experience of equivalent standing is required.
Demonstrates a deep understanding of discipline-specific design standards, regulatory requirements, applicable codes, and essential safety criteria.
Capable of analyzing, assessing, and revising cause-and-effect relationships, PIDs, logic and architecture diagrams, as well as control narratives with precision and thoroughness.
Candidates must possess hands-on experience in selecting, installing, and specifying hardware according to ISA data sheets, including pressure, temperature, and level instruments, control valves, shutdown valves, and fire/gas detection systems.
Skilled in gathering and interpreting data using widely used database and analytical software, including SAP, Excel Analytics, and Tableau.
Demonstrated capacity to thrive under stringent deadlines, substantial workloads, and rapidly shifting priorities.
Skilled in utilizing the full range of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with a strong command of their functionalities.
Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English with a high degree of fluency, particularly in technical and business contexts.
