Job Summary
A distinguished Microfinance Bank headquartered in Elite State is in search of an accomplished, driven, and technically proficient individual to fill the role of ICT Officer.
Reporting directly to senior leadership, the selected professional will oversee the continuous administration, operation, and upkeep of the bank’s IT infrastructure. The right candidate will prioritize seamless functionality of the Core Banking Application (CBA), enforce robust information security protocols, enhance network performance, and assist electronic banking platforms—all in strict accordance with Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) IT regulations.
Oversee the primary duties and operational functions associated with the position, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and strategic goals. Execute critical tasks that drive efficiency, productivity, and performance within the team or department. Develop and implement structured plans, policies, and procedures to streamline workflows and enhance overall output. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster communication, innovation, and problem-solving initiatives. Monitor progress through performance metrics, reports, and evaluations to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. Maintain compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and quality standards to uphold organizational integrity and accountability. Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to team members to cultivate professional growth and development.
The role involves managing and maintaining the bank’s technological infrastructure, which includes hardware, servers, operating systems, and software applications, ensuring their optimal performance and reliability on a daily basis.
Core Banking Support involves overseeing and delivering first-line technical assistance for the bank’s Core Banking Application (CBA), with a focus on maintaining optimal database operations, executing end-of-day (EOD) and end-of-month (EOM) processes, and ensuring the integrity of generated data.
Implement and oversee robust network and security management protocols, deploying advanced measures such as firewalls, antivirus solutions, and access controls to safeguard the bank’s digital infrastructure against cyber threats.
Execute rigorous daily, weekly, and monthly data backup procedures while systematically validating the bank’s Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) to uphold uninterrupted business operations.
Monitor and oversee electronic banking channels, agency banking platforms, and point-of-sale (POS) terminal deployments to ensure uninterrupted and high-quality service delivery to customers.
Assist in gathering essential system technical logs and reports ensuring adherence to regular CBN/FDIC e-rendition compliance platforms.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience is required. Proficiency in specific software tools and technologies is essential. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are necessary. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities are expected. Prior experience in a similar role is preferred. Familiarity with industry standards and best practices is advantageous.
A Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field is required.
Seeking professionals with a minimum of two to four years of post-qualification experience as an IT/ICT Officer, specifically within financial institutions. Hands-on expertise in Microfinance Core Banking Applications is essential for this role.
Professional Certifications: Possessing pertinent IT certifications—for instance, CCNA, Compton Security+, GCSE, or ITIL—would be beneficial.
Technical Competencies: Proficiency in SQL database administration, expertise in network infrastructure (LAN/WAN), adeptness in Windows and Linux server management, and adherence to cybersecurity best practices are required.
Possesses strong problem-solving skills, demonstrates rapid diagnostic abilities, maintains high ethical standards, and thrives in high-pressure environments with limited oversight.
