Job Summary
A disciplined and analytically strong Procurement Manager is sought to oversee procurement and supply chain activities for a designated business unit.
This position oversees vendor sourcing initiatives, maintains the vendor master database, processes purchase orders, and cultivates relationships with subcontractors.
This position represents an entry-level management opportunity, where we will provide comprehensive training to the ideal candidate, equipping them with our systems and processes from the ground up.
Oversee a comprehensive range of duties encompassing strategic planning, operational management, and team leadership to ensure organizational objectives are met efficiently. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices that drive continuous improvement and foster a culture of excellence. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align resources, optimize workflows, and achieve departmental and company-wide goals. Monitor performance metrics, analyze trends, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership to inform data-driven decision-making. Serve as a key liaison between executive management, employees, and external stakeholders to facilitate clear communication and resolve escalated issues. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, internal standards, and ethical guidelines while maintaining high standards of accountability and transparency.
Verify vendor and resource availability, along with cost estimates, within one business day following the receipt of an order request.
Assess, verify, and formally document all third-party vendors within the ERP system prior to commencing any assigned work.
Maintain the vendor tiering system and proactively broaden the vendor network in regions with limited operational presence.
Develop and maintain independent relationships with subcontractor firms, overseeing contractual agreements and resolving any disputes that arise.
Quarterly assessments of vendor performance must be conducted, with any underperforming vendors promptly removed from the roster.
Responsibilities include the preparation and issuance of purchase orders, as well as engaging in negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable prices, discounts, and contractual terms.
Responsible for managing logistics coordination at the procurement stage and authorizing freight contracts.
Each week, compile and prepare procurement reports while evaluating supply chain data to provide management with comprehensive insights for informed decision-making.
Requirements
A Bachelor of Science degree or Higher National Diploma in a quantitative field such as Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Accounting, or a related discipline is required.
We seek candidates with up to three years of relevant experience in procurement, supply chain management, purchasing, or a comparable administrative position, where National Youth Service Corps (NYC) experience in procurement or administration is also considered acceptable.
Demonstrates exceptional numerical and analytical capabilities alongside a steadfast commitment to integrity and meticulous attention to detail.
Seeking candidates with strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word, while familiarity with ERP or procurement software is beneficial.
Skilled in negotiation strategies and possessing a methodical approach to tasks.
Proficiency in the telecommunications sector or the construction/infrastructure domain would be advantageous.
