A Senior HR Officer is required to provide essential support to the Human Resources department at BURN’s factory in Kano, Nigeria, where high-quality clean cooking stoves are manufactured. The role involves contributing to key administrative and operational responsibilities to maintain seamless HR functions and foster workforce welfare across the Kano facility, as well as broader Nigerian and group operations.

The position involves executing a range of critical tasks and fulfilling key obligations to support operational objectives. Responsibilities include overseeing daily workflows, ensuring compliance with established procedures, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones. Additionally, the role requires maintaining accurate records, analyzing performance metrics to identify trends, and implementing process improvements as needed. The employee will manage the onboarding process for all new hires at BURN, ensuring they are thoroughly introduced to all necessary documentation, including contracts, policies, rules, and procedures.

Handling employee concerns regarding HR matters and elevating them to management as required.

The role involves sourcing and hiring a diverse workforce, encompassing both casual and permanent employees, as well as managerial personnel.

Developing and implementing company policies, then ensuring staff comprehension through targeted training sessions on those updates.

Gathering all necessary documentation from newly hired employees to facilitate contract preparation is required.

Managing the electronic employee data sheet to track contract expiry dates, thereby ensuring all employees maintain valid contracts before performing their duties.

Overseeing the staff medical allowance program, verifying the validity of submitted claims, and processing reimbursements accordingly.

Executing a thorough offboarding procedure for all employees and contractors, validating that all necessary documentation is completed prior to departure, conducting mandatory medical examinations for factory staff exiting the organization, and ensuring the return of all company property in pristine condition.

Organizing comprehensive medical examinations for the entire workforce is required.

Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date training calendar while effectively identifying and documenting training requirements is essential.

Assisting with additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by your supervisor on an as-needed basis, ensuring all assignments are completed promptly and in alignment with company objectives.

Seeking a candidate with a proven background in relevant competencies and hands-on experience in the field.
