Overall Mission

Reporting to the Protection Supervisor and receiving specialized technical guidance from the Deputy Protection Coordinator on GBV quality standards, the GBV caseworker delivers high-quality, survivor-centered case management services to GBV survivors and at-risk individuals.

The GBV caseworker collaborates closely with the Protection Officer, providing specialized support in GBV response and case management, as well as overseeing PRIMERO/BRIMS data management and facilitating GBV prevention initiatives.

In close collaboration with Protection Officers, community-based structures, health sector stakeholders, and external service providers, the incumbent provides oversight to Protection Volunteers engaged in Age-related initiatives.

Deliver compassionate, survivor-focused case management services on a daily basis to gender-based violence (GBV) survivors and those at heightened risk, in strict adherence to established GBV Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Guiding Principles.

Conduct comprehensive evaluations of survivors’ requirements, devise tailored action plans, execute these plans, provide ongoing follow-up, and finalize cases in strict adherence to the established GBV case management standard operating procedures.

Document all cases meticulously using standardized intake and assessment forms, verifying accuracy, completeness, and timely submission while strictly adhering to confidentiality protocols and do-no-harm principles.

Consistently adhere to established case management procedures, referral guidelines, and documentation protocols throughout every phase of the case management workflow.

Organize and lead routine case conference discussions focused on intricate or demanding situations, elevating complex, high-risk, or ethically delicate cases to the Protection Supervisor for oversight and, when necessary, to the Deputy Protection Coordinator for expert clinical guidance.

Offer guidance to GBV survivors by connecting them with suitable internal and external resources, including child protection, sexual and reproductive health, mental health and psychosocial support, legal aid, and individual protection assistance. Where necessary, escort survivors to these services and follow up to confirm that they have accessed the required support.

Maintain a survivor-centered approach and adhere to GBV Guiding Principles consistently, whether in safe spaces or within community settings.

GBV prevention initiatives aim to mitigate and respond to gender-based violence through comprehensive strategies encompassing awareness campaigns, educational programs, and direct support services for survivors. These efforts require collaboration with local communities, government agencies, and international partners to ensure culturally sensitive and effective interventions. BRIMS/Primero Data Management facilitates the secure collection, storage, and analysis of sensitive information pertaining to gender-based violence and protection incidents. This role necessitates expertise in data management principles, proficiency in BRIMS/Primero software, and a commitment to upholding confidentiality and ethical standards. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, generating insightful reports, and ensuring compliance with data protection protocols. Use PRIMERO / BRIMS to examine documented cases for the production of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports; deliver statistical insights and data as requested by the Protection Supervisor and Area Protection Manager.

Maintain the confidentiality, security, and proper management of sensitive protected information in strict accordance with international data protection and confidentiality regulations.

Notify the Protection Supervisor immediately of any data quality concerns or database access issues encountered.
