Emergency First International is a global, non-governmental, non-profit organization committed to humanitarian action, operating independently of political affiliations and religious influences. Established through the merger of two prominent French NGOs—Premiere Urgency and Aide Medical Internationale—Emergency First International delivers vital assistance to civilians impacted by natural disasters, armed conflicts, and economic collapses, with a focus on those who are marginalized or excluded.
Grounded in the belief that every individual possesses fundamental rights as outlined in the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the organization is dedicated to upholding human dignity and fostering sustainable recovery. Its guiding principle—”Let’s help them do without us”—reflects a commitment to empowering affected communities, enabling them to rebuild their lives with autonomy and self-sufficiency.
Emergency First International’s mission is to deliver holistic support to populations grappling with humanitarian crises, equipping them with the tools and resources necessary to reclaim agency over their futures.
Operational in 22 countries, the organization’s efforts are powered by a dedicated workforce of over 2,650 national staff, supported by 145 expatriate professionals and a team of 63 employees at its headquarters.
