Our esteemed client, a leading hotel situated in the Amino Odin area of Lagos and Abuja, is currently seeking the expertise of a highly skilled and experienced Hotel Accountant and Head of Internal Audit. The selected candidate will be tasked with overseeing a comprehensive range of financial and audit responsibilities, ensuring the organization’s fiscal integrity and operational efficiency.
Compilation of monthly management accounts, along with the preparation or oversight of daily revenue ledgers, is required.
The incumbent is responsible for developing and maintaining the schedule of all statutory obligations and ensuring their timely payment.
Collaborate with management and the internal audit team to develop internal control procedures, ensuring robust governance frameworks. Conduct thorough reviews of existing controls, analyzing their effectiveness and identifying areas for enhancement. Present well-founded recommendations to management regarding any required modifications to strengthen operational efficiency and compliance.
Ensures all expenditures adhere to established budgetary constraints while securing necessary approvals for each expense incurred.
We require a strong understanding of inventory management principles and actively participate in monthly stock taking and reconciliation efforts while ensuring strict compliance with established inventory procedures.
Compiles monthly bank reconciliation statements, either independently or in collaboration with other account officers.
Liaise with the procurement department and storage teams to prepare payment schedules for all creditors, while also coordinating with the front desk manager to calculate receivables.
The ideal candidate must hold a minimum of an HND or B.Sc. in Accounting, along with ICAN or AAT certification, and possess several years of relevant professional experience. An advanced stage in ICAN would be considered an additional benefit. Applicants holding ICAN AAT2 or Foundation qualifications, complemented by relevant years of experience, are also encouraged to apply. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as experience with at least one accounting software, is required.
A position is currently available exclusively for residents of Lagos, particularly those in proximity to Amino Odin.
