Job Summary
The Project Manager (Branch Expansion) will oversee the complete life cycle of opening new company outlets, guaranteeing that all expansion initiatives are executed punctually, adhere to budgetary constraints, and meet the organization’s brand and operational benchmarks.
Oversee the primary duties associated with this role, ensuring all operational and strategic objectives are met efficiently. Develop and implement actionable plans to drive team productivity while maintaining high standards of quality and performance. Develop and oversee comprehensive project plans for new store openings, meticulously outlining timelines, budgets, and key milestones to ensure efficient execution and alignment with organizational objectives.
Collaborate effectively with internal departments—including Operations, Design, Procurement, Legal, and Human Resources—as well as external contractors to ensure smooth and cohesive project delivery.
Identify, assess, and oversee appropriate locations for new store openings to align with the organization’s growth strategy.
Responsibilities include managing the complete fit-out, construction, and renovation processes for newly established locations. This role requires direct oversight of all project stages, ensuring compliance with design specifications, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
Oversee the acquisition and maintenance of all essential licensing, permits, and regulatory approvals necessary for opening new outlets.
Develop and implement comprehensive operational readiness checklists, ensuring all necessary pre-opening activities are meticulously planned, reviewed, and executed to meet organizational standards.
Monitor project advancement, detect potential risks, and execute corrective measures to ensure timely and successful completion.
Oversee project budgets, negotiate vendor contracts, and handle procurement processes for fit-outs.
Compile and deliver comprehensive project status updates to senior leadership, ensuring clarity and precision in all communications.
Capture insights from every expansion initiative to enhance the efficacy of forthcoming project deliveries.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of five years of progressive experience in business analysis, project management, or a closely related discipline. Proficiency in SQL, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and strong analytical abilities are essential. Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills are also necessary. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience leading cross-functional teams are preferred.
A master’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Architecture, or a closely related discipline is required.
A PMP certification or an equivalent credential in project management would be considered advantageous.
Experienced professionals with a minimum of seven years in project management are sought, with a preference for candidates who have worked in retail expansion, real estate, or food service sectors.
Accomplished in overseeing the execution of multi-site expansion or fit-out initiatives, with a demonstrated history of successful project leadership.
Individuals must demonstrate exceptional proficiency in organizing tasks, strategically planning initiatives, and effectively managing relationships with stakeholders.
Individuals should possess a solid grasp of construction methodologies, facility management principles, and regulatory frameworks specific to Lagos.
Demonstrated expertise in utilizing project management software platforms, including MS Project and Asana, is essential.
Demonstrates exceptional proficiency in negotiation, communication, and problem-solving, with a keen ability to navigate complex discussions and resolve challenges effectively.
