Job Description

The Finance & Accounts Lead will oversee and drive the financial operations for our diverse portfolio of business entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment.

This position requires meticulous cash flow management, strict adherence to financial protocols, precise and prompt reporting, and the skill to distill intricate financial information into actionable insights for executive leadership.

Oversee a comprehensive range of critical duties, including the development and execution of strategic initiatives, operational planning, and team leadership to drive organizational success. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment with company objectives while maintaining high standards of performance and accountability. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide data-driven insights to senior management for informed decision-making. Oversee financial operations and accounting functions, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and efficient management of financial resources. Oversee daily accounting operations such as processing accounts payable and receivable transactions, maintaining the general ledger, and performing accurate bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

Cashflow and Treasury Management: Responsible for overseeing and optimizing the organization’s liquidity, ensuring efficient cash flow forecasting, and maintaining adequate liquidity levels to meet operational and strategic obligations. Manages banking relationships, negotiates terms with financial institutions, and implements treasury strategies to minimize costs and mitigate financial risks. Additionally, oversees the investment of surplus funds, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, and provides accurate financial reporting to stakeholders. Requires expertise in financial analysis, cash management systems, and strong proficiency in treasury operations.

Track, oversee, and project cash flow across various entities to guarantee adequate liquidity for operational continuity.

Compiles and produces monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, along with comprehensive variance analysis.

Collaborate with business heads to create annual budgets and maintain rolling forecasts.

Cost Control & Expense Management: Oversee financial expenditures to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints while identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements. Analyze spending patterns, track variances, and implement corrective measures to maintain fiscal discipline. Develop and enforce expense policies, conduct audits, and collaborate with stakeholders to optimize resource allocation. Prepare detailed financial reports to support strategic decision-making and ensure compliance with financial regulations and organizational objectives.

Administer expense management systems to guarantee that all expenditures undergo proper authorization, accurate documentation, and strict adherence to budgetary constraints.

Evaluate avenues for cost reduction and uphold stringent cost control measures throughout the organization.

Analyze and enhance existing internal controls to mitigate risks associated with waste, fraud, and inaccuracies.

Auditing, taxation, and regulatory adherence form the core responsibilities of this position, requiring meticulous attention to financial records, statutory obligations, and compliance frameworks. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in financial auditing, tax planning, and regulatory reporting, supported by relevant certifications such as CPA or ARCA. The role involves conducting thorough reviews of financial statements, ensuring adherence to tax laws, and implementing compliance measures to mitigate risks. Strong analytical skills, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to interpret complex financial data are essential for success in this multifaceted role.

Ensure the seamless execution of all external audit engagements, guaranteeing prompt and flawless audit results.

Collaborate with tax advisors and government agencies to guarantee adherence to all FIRS, state, and local tax obligations, including VAT, WHT, CIT, PAYE, and other applicable regulations.

Ensure all statutory returns are prepared and filed punctually and accurately.

Monitor financial regulations and accounting standards, particularly IFRS, to ensure ongoing compliance and alignment with evolving requirements.

Stakeholder and Advisor Oversight: Foster productive relationships with key stakeholders and advisors to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and facilitate informed decision-making processes. Responsibilities include cultivating trust, addressing concerns, and providing strategic guidance to enhance collaboration and drive project success. Requirements entail strong interpersonal skills, the ability to influence without authority, and proficiency in managing diverse perspectives and expectations.

Act as the main liaison for auditors, tax advisors, bankers, and other key financial stakeholders.

Provide leadership with comprehensive financial analyses to inform strategic choices, pricing strategies, and organizational planning.

Seeking a highly organized individual with a minimum of three years of experience in administrative support or a related field. The ideal candidate must possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and exceptional time management capabilities are essential. A bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, or a comparable discipline is preferred. Responsibilities include coordinating meetings, maintaining filing systems, handling correspondence, and providing support to various departments as needed.

Requiring a minimum of five years, with a preference for ten or more, of professional background in insurance brokerage, insurance sales, or business development.
