The Head of Finance & Accounts will lead all accounting functions for JC International, ensuring precise financial reporting, adherence to regulatory standards, and strategic financial planning. This senior leadership role involves directing the accounts team to uphold financial integrity, enhance resource allocation efficiency, and deliver data-driven insights that facilitate informed decision-making and foster business expansion.

The successful candidate will be expected to manage and execute specific tasks assigned to the role, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. This includes overseeing daily operations, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and maintaining high standards of efficiency and accuracy. Additionally, the role requires adherence to all relevant policies, procedures, and compliance standards to uphold organizational integrity and performance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement in all aspects of their work.

Responsibilities include ensuring the precise preparation and timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with relevant regulatory and accounting standards.

Oversee and align the general ledger to ensure precise documentation of every financial transaction.

Compile and deliver comprehensive financial analyses, projections, and performance evaluations to leadership to facilitate strategic decision-making.

Monitor financial data to detect patterns, discrepancies, and opportunities for enhancement, ensuring accurate and timely insights for decision-making.

Collaborate with departmental heads to guide the annual budgeting process.

Monitor budget execution, analyze discrepancies, and propose corrective actions to ensure financial alignment.

Develop and execute strategies aimed at reducing expenses to enhance overall operational performance.

Ensure all tax returns are filed promptly and statutory payments, including those to FIRS, LIES, Pension funds, NHF, and other relevant bodies, are made without delay.

Design and implement robust internal controls aimed at safeguarding company assets while mitigating the risk of fraud.

Oversee and facilitate internal and external audits, driving timely implementation of corrective actions to address any findings efficiently.

Ensure adherence to all relevant financial regulations as well as company-established policies at all times.

Oversee cash flow management, handle banking operations, and maintain relationships with financial institutions.

Oversee working capital management to maintain sufficient liquidity for ongoing operations and project execution.

Assess potential investments and provide strategic guidance to management regarding capital allocation and funding approaches.

Responsible for ensuring the proficient utilization of accounting software and ERP systems to facilitate precise reporting and data analysis.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in Accounting or Finance is required.

A recognized professional certification such as ICAN, ARCA, or an equivalent qualification is required.

A minimum of eight years of progressive accounting experience, including at least three years in a senior management position, is required.

Demonstrates extensive experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting with a strong performance history.

Proven expertise in leadership, analytical thinking, and interpersonal communication is essential.
