The Head of Finance & Accounts will lead all accounting functions at JC International, guaranteeing precise financial reporting, adherence to regulatory standards, and robust strategic financial planning. Ensure the precise and punctual preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in alignment with relevant regulatory and accounting standards.
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure all financial transactions are recorded with precision and accuracy.
Develop and deliver comprehensive financial analysis, projections, and performance evaluations to leadership to facilitate strategic decision-making.
Examine financial data systematically to detect emerging trends, pinpoint variances, and uncover opportunities for enhancement.
Collaborate with departmental heads to spearhead the annual budgeting process.
Monitor budget execution, analyze discrepancies, and propose corrective actions to maintain financial alignment.
Develop and execute strategies aimed at reducing expenditures while enhancing overall operational performance.
Oversee the prompt submission of tax returns and fulfillment of statutory obligations, including those to the FIRS, LIES, Pension Fund Administrators, and the National Housing Fund (NHF), among others.
Establish and maintain robust internal controls to protect organizational assets and mitigate the risk of fraudulent activities.
Facilitate and assist with both internal and external audit processes, driving timely and effective resolution of all identified findings.
Ensure adherence to all applicable financial regulations as well as organizational policies.
Oversee cash flow management, banking operations, and liaise with financial institutions to ensure seamless financial transactions and compliance with institutional policies.
Monitor cash flow and liquid assets to maintain sufficient funds for ongoing activities and strategic initiatives.
Assess potential investment options and provide strategic recommendations to leadership regarding funding approaches.
Responsibilities include ensuring the proficient utilization of accounting software and ERP systems to maintain precise reporting and analytical capabilities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Higher National Diploma in Accounting or Finance is required for this position. Candidates must possess a recognized qualification in one of these fields to be considered eligible for application.
Professional certification, such as ICAN or ARCA (or an equivalent qualification), is an essential requirement for this role.
Eight years of progressive accounting experience is required, including a minimum of three years in a senior management capacity.
A strong background in financial planning, analysis, and reporting is required.
Proven expertise in leadership, analytical thinking, and effective communication is essential.
