The Role
You will deploy, configure, and activate IPN customer services across both fiber and wireless networks in onsite roles.
In this dynamic field engineering position, your hands-on contributions will shape customers’ initial interactions with IPN, making your role pivotal from the very beginning.
What You Will Do
Conduct comprehensive end-to-end installations of fiber and wireless services, catering to both enterprise and residential clients.
Install and deploy Customer Premises Equipment (CPE), including routers, switches, IP phones, and Optical Network Terminals (ONT’s), directly at customer sites. Configure these devices according to established network standards and operational protocols to ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
Perform comprehensive end-to-end diagnostics to verify that services consistently adhere to established quality and performance benchmarks.
Collaborate effectively with the Network Operations Center (NOC), Infrastructure, and Customer Care teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
Ensure all installation records are meticulously updated within CRM, ERP, and OSS systems to maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation.
Provide leadership and direction to a compact team of interns, fostering their professional growth and development within the industry.
You Are the Right Fit If You Have
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related IT field, awarded with at least a 2:1 classification, is required for this role.
Possesses a minimum of one to two years of direct, practical experience within the telecommunications, internet service provider, or information and communication technology service delivery domains.
Professionals should possess a strong foundation in IP networking, including expertise in LAN and WAN architectures, as well as a deep comprehension of TCP/IP protocols, DHCP configuration, and DNS management.
Proficiency in the setup and administration of routers, switches, and network connectivity hardware is required.
Proficiency in fiber optic and wireless access technologies is required.
Demonstrates proficiency in utilizing troubleshooting tools such as ping, traceroute, ODR, and cable testers.
Bonus: Candidates possessing Cisco certification or having completed an internship with a National Youth Service Corps (NYC) program in an Internet Service Provider (ISP) or telecommunications setting will be given favorable consideration.
