We are in search of a skilled Fiber Engineer to join our fiber network infrastructure team. The successful applicant will oversee the deployment, troubleshooting, optimization, and maintenance of fiber optic systems, with a strong focus on maintaining high network availability and delivering prompt resolutions to client concerns.

This position provides a flexible working arrangement, permitting remote work on the condition that the selected individual is located near Victoria Island, ensuring prompt on-site attendance whenever necessary.

Oversee and execute critical tasks essential to the role, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational standards. Manage day-to-day activities with precision and accountability, identifying opportunities for improvement while mitigating potential risks. Collaborate cross-functionally with teams to drive project completion, foster innovation, and maintain high performance standards. Serve as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, addressing inquiries and facilitating seamless communication channels. Deploy, install, maintain, and repair fiber optic systems while ensuring optimal performance through systematic troubleshooting.

Execute fiber splicing, conduct diagnostic testing, and resolve faults to ensure optimal network performance and reliability.

Oversee the implementation of both underground and aerial fiber optic cable installations to ensure efficient and reliable connectivity.

Monitor and enhance signal strength and network performance to ensure optimal connectivity and reliability. Evaluate key performance metrics to identify areas for improvement, implementing strategic adjustments as needed. Maintain comprehensive oversight of network operations to uphold service quality and user satisfaction.

Perform regular maintenance tasks and conduct thorough inspections of infrastructure components to ensure operational integrity and reliability.

Proficiently set up customer routers to establish last-mile connectivity solutions, encompassing both fiber and microwave radio technologies.

Provide assistance in the management and maintenance of the Outside Plant (OSP) network infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.

Accurate documentation of deployment and maintenance activities must be maintained at all times.

Deliver prompt resolutions for customer complaints and escalated support issues at the second tier, ensuring efficient and effective problem-solving.

Work collaboratively with internal departments and external vendors to execute fire-related projects.

Prepare weekly and periodic operational reports to provide timely insights into operational performance.

Technical prerequisites encompass proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++, familiarity with software development methodologies like Agile or Scrum, and expertise in database management systems including SQL or NoSQL. Candidates should possess strong problem-solving capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in collaborative team settings. Prior experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is highly desirable, alongside knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. Additionally, a solid understanding of networking fundamentals, cybersecurity principles, and version control systems like Git is essential.

Experienced in fiber optic installation, troubleshooting, and diagnostics.

Hands-on proficiency with ODR, Power Meters, and Fusion Splicing Machines is essential for this role.

Proficiency in radio frequency engineering and telecommunications infrastructure is required.

With a background in implementing last-mile connectivity solutions, including Fiber and Microwave Radio technologies, you bring hands-on expertise to this role. Your familiarity with these critical infrastructure components positions you to contribute effectively to network expansion and optimization initiatives.

Proficient in evaluating signal strength, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and key performance indicators to ensure optimal system functionality and reliability.

Seeking candidates with a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience, complemented by a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field. Strong proficiency in project management, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement is required. Exceptional analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role. Prior leadership experience and the ability to drive cross-functional initiatives are highly preferred. Familiarity with industry-specific tools and methodologies is a must.
