ABOUT THE JOB
The ASH Assistant at EYE serves as a field-based professional dedicated to expanding access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive information and services for women and girls in Northeast Nigeria, specifically within Polka and Gaza L.G.A., Born State. This position entails improving service accessibility, reinforcing referral pathways for adolescent healthcare, and conducting capacity-building initiatives for partners and staff on gender-based violence (GBV) and ASH issues to foster improved youth health outcomes.
LOCATION: PULKA
Oversee the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and drive organizational growth. Lead cross-functional teams to ensure seamless collaboration and alignment with company objectives. Monitor key performance indicators to assess progress and identify areas for improvement. Develop and maintain robust policies and procedures to uphold compliance and mitigate risks. Serve as a liaison between senior management and department heads to facilitate clear communication and decision-making. Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement by coaching team members and promoting best practices. Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements while optimizing resource allocation.
The ASH ASSISTANT will assume responsibility for all duties outlined below, as well as any additional tasks that arise as natural extensions of the specified responsibilities, whether explicitly listed or not.
Deliver group-based education and one-on-one counselling sessions focused on sexual and reproductive health services.
Deliver thorough sexuality education sessions and facilitate parent group discussions tailored for adolescents and their caregivers.
Deliver instruction to Community Health volunteers regarding Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health services through structured educational sessions.
Facilitate the implementation of safe motherhood sessions specifically tailored for pregnant adolescents.
Adapt all pertinent ASH IEC materials to align with the program’s facilities and oversee the reprinting of key ASH publications to facilitate effective dissemination.
Engage actively and provide support in the planning and execution of the community sensitization campaign focused on Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASH) services.
Organize campaigns related to ASRH
Organize and facilitate community dialogue sessions with religious and community leaders to introduce adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASH) services and youth-friendly corners, while securing their endorsement and active support.
During health coordination meetings, you will present the project progress and relevant data associated with the programs.
Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports detailing activities conducted.

We seek a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics. Minimum of three years of professional experience in a closely related role is required, along with proficiency in key programming languages like Python, Java, or C++. Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills are essential, as is the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Obtained Diploma or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in any relevant scientific discipline or Public Health.
