The chosen candidate will independently craft premium men’s garments with exceptional precision and careful attention to detail.
Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations to ensure efficiency, coordinating team efforts to meet project deadlines, and maintaining high-quality standards in all deliverables. Additionally, the role involves conducting regular performance evaluations, identifying opportunities for process improvements, and fostering a collaborative work environment. You will also be responsible for managing budgets, tracking expenses, and preparing comprehensive reports for senior management. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced setting. Familiarity with industry-specific tools and software, as well as relevant certifications, may be required depending on the position.
Create innovative apparel designs, progressing from initial sketches to fully realized garments.
Develop comprehensive production-focused sketches with meticulous detail and precision.
Perform comprehensive market research to stay abreast of the latest trends, color palettes, fabric innovations, and emerging techniques.
Guarantee the punctual completion and delivery of finished garments to meet established deadlines.
Responsible for supervising fitting sessions and executing essential modifications to garment patterns as needed.
Requirements
A Higher National Diploma (HND), Bachelor of Science, Technical Diploma, or an equivalent qualification is required.
With a minimum of one to ten years of specialized experience in tailoring, candidates should demonstrate a proven track record in garment construction, alteration techniques, and fabric selection. This role requires expertise in fitting, pattern drafting, and precision stitching to ensure high-quality, custom-fitted apparel. Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines, hand-sewing methods, and understanding of garment finishing processes is essential, along with familiarity with various textiles and their appropriate applications.
Sketching by hand with a high degree of proficiency is required.
Demonstrated capacity to thrive in fast-paced environments and successfully juggle several concurrent projects without compromising quality or timeliness.
High levels of creativity and meticulous attention to detail are essential for this role.
Exceptional interpersonal and client relations capabilities are essential when engaging with customers.
Ability to rapidly grasp and accurately interpret design specifications with clarity and precision.
