Action Against Hunger Nigeria (ACF Nigeria) LTD/LTE, a global humanitarian and development organization, operates in over 50 countries worldwide, including Nigeria, to address the root causes and consequences of hunger. Since its establishment in 2010, ACF Nigeria has been at the forefront of tackling chronic food insecurity and malnutrition in Northeast Nigeria, actively responding to a severe humanitarian crisis exacerbated by insecurity, mass displacement, natural disasters, climate variability, and economic disruptions.
ACF Nigeria, in collaboration with its partners—BO WDI, YIP DI, Save the Children (SC), and EYE—has been executing the Empowering and Nurturing Resilience, Integration, and Community Health (ENRICH) program, funded by the U.S. Department of State. Over the past 24 months, this initiative has delivered critical lifesaving and recovery support to vulnerable communities in Born State, with a primary focus on Rubio, Maguire, Mobber, and Saga Local Government Areas (Gas). The program has positively impacted the lives of approximately 714,045 individuals during this period.
The primary goals of the projects include establishing clear deliverables, ensuring effective collaboration among stakeholders, and achieving measurable outcomes within specified timelines. Additionally, they aim to foster innovation, optimize resource allocation, and maintain compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements. The initiatives are designed to address key challenges, enhance operational efficiency, and contribute to the overall strategic objectives of the organization.
Improvements in health and nutrition services are implemented to decrease rates of illness and death.
Strengthening household food security involves delivering unconditional food or cash assistance during lean or off-lean seasons to populations affected by conflict.
Integrated WASH interventions are implemented to strengthen the resilience of households, communities, and systems in Born, enabling them to withstand and recover from shocks effectively.
Communities benefit from enhanced protective services that foster increased resilience.
ACF, in collaboration with its partners, advances nutrition security and enhances access to healthcare and improved nutrition services through multi-sectoral approaches. The organization’s primary objectives include reducing mortality and morbidity rates, particularly among children under five, while fostering resilience in vulnerable communities. Additionally, ACF empowers these groups to achieve sustainable thriving.
