Summary

We are in search of a diligent, professional, and reliable Security Officer to enhance our team with their expertise.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe, secure, and hospitable environment for patients, visitors, staff, and hospital property.

Oversee and execute critical duties encompassing strategic planning, operational efficiency, and cross-functional collaboration to drive organizational success. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and performance metrics to ensure alignment with company objectives and regulatory standards. Lead and mentor teams to foster a high-performance culture, emphasizing accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Monitor industry trends and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities for growth and risk mitigation. Serve as a primary liaison between senior leadership, stakeholders, and external partners to facilitate seamless communication and decision-making. Ensure compliance with legal, financial, and ethical guidelines while optimizing resource allocation for maximum productivity and cost-effectiveness.

Control access to the hospital by validating identification credentials and confirming authorization for entry into both general hospital areas and restricted zones.

The hospital gate must be consistently monitored and controlled to guarantee its security, with immediate action taken to open and close it as needed to ensure the safe movement of patients, visitors, staff, and authorized vehicles.

Perform routine inspections of the hospital’s property, encompassing both the interior facilities and exterior grounds, to detect and mitigate potential security hazards.

Monitor systems vigilantly, log any unusual behavior or violations, and take immediate, appropriate action in response to security threats, breaches, or safety hazards.

Handle emergencies with proficiency, encompassing medical crises, fire outbreaks, theft, disturbances, and other security concerns, in collaboration with appropriate personnel.

Oversee visitor activities in strict compliance with hospital protocols, guaranteeing accurate registration and full adherence to established guidelines.

Ensure the safeguarding of hospital property, equipment, patient belongings, and other valuable assets against theft, vandalism, misuse, or damage.

Provide support in managing crowd control and facilitating the orderly movement of individuals during emergency situations or periods of high foot traffic.

Draft thorough, precise incident reports, security logs, and any additional required documentation while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.

Provide support in transporting patients throughout the facility in a secure and efficient manner when necessary.

Offer support to patients, visitors, and staff as necessary, understanding that patient care and comfort represent a collective duty among all hospital employees.

Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality concerning patient records and all hospital-related activities.

Maintain strict adherence to hospital regulations, safety protocols, and security measures at all times.

Ensure safety and security by actively monitoring entrances, exits, parking areas, and other designated zones.

The successful candidate must meet several key criteria. A minimum of five years of experience in a related field is required, along with a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced Excel skills are essential, while familiarity with project management software is preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities are also necessary to fulfill the role effectively.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the capacity to work independently are vital, alongside the ability to collaborate effectively within a team. Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role is a plus, as is a proven track record of delivering results under tight deadlines.

An SSC/WAEC certificate is the minimum educational requirement for this position.

Previous experience in security roles, particularly within a healthcare environment, is highly advantageous.

Effective communication and strong interpersonal abilities are essential.

Maintains composure and professionalism in high-pressure and emergency situations.

Capable of maintaining physical stamina to stand, walk, and conduct patrols for prolonged durations.
