Job Objective:

The National Sales Head will develop, implement, and lead the company’s commercial strategy across all regions in Nigeria. This position is responsible for driving growth in the electrical cables market—spanning low, medium, and high voltage segments—through strategic B2B partnerships, institutional sales initiatives, distributor network expansion, and the cultivation of key project pipelines.

Oversee and execute a range of critical tasks, including but not limited to strategic planning, operational implementation, and performance monitoring to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. Serve as the primary point of contact for cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and resolving interdepartmental challenges to drive cohesive progress. Develop and refine policies, procedures, and workflows to enhance efficiency, accountability, and compliance with industry standards. Analyze data trends, generate insights, and present actionable recommendations to senior leadership to inform decision-making. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal guidelines while mitigating risks through proactive measures. Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, promoting professional growth and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Develop and implement a dynamic national sales strategy aimed at exceeding revenue targets, accelerating volume growth, and expanding market reach across multiple product categories, including armored and non-armored cables, as well as copper and aluminum cable lines.

Responsibilities include overseeing key account relationships with top-tier distributors, prominent electrical merchants, leading real estate developers, EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractors, and government-owned entities such as Discos and TCN.

Provide strategic guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations for Regional Sales Managers overseeing the North, West, and East territories.

Conduct thorough market intelligence by continuously analyzing competitor pricing strategies, product portfolios, and emerging market trends to provide executive leadership with strategic insights on competitive positioning.

Enforce stringent debt collection policies throughout the distribution network to uphold a healthy corporate cash flow, ensuring consistent credit and debt management.

A candidate must have at least five years of experience in a similar role, possess strong problem-solving skills, and demonstrate proficiency in project management software. Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, are essential for effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams. Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance standards is required, as well as the ability to analyze complex data and generate actionable insights. The ideal applicant should hold a relevant degree in a related field and be willing to work flexible hours to meet project deadlines.

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field is required, with an MBA considered a valuable asset.

With a minimum of eight years of experience in industrial sales, including three to five years focused on the cable manufacturing or building materials sector, you bring a strong foundation to this role.

Proven expertise in overseeing a large-scale distribution network spanning multiple regions; exceptional ability to negotiate effectively and cultivate lasting partnerships; adept at leveraging advanced data analysis and forecasting methodologies.
