The purpose of the position is to

Oversee the complete performance of Nigeria’s ecommerce operations across all existing markets and brands, with a focus on driving revenue growth, enhancing conversion rates, and maintaining catalogue excellence. Spearhead the strategic expansion of the digital commerce presence from 2 to 10+ cities, overseeing launch initiatives, cross-functional collaboration, and stakeholder coordination. Foster and lead a high-performing ecommerce team while upholding commercial rigor, operational discipline, and brand consistency across all digital platforms.

Key Deliverables:

Deliver full ownership of all Nigeria-based ecommerce platforms, ensuring end-to-end operational excellence. Sustain superior catalogue integrity, search functionality, merchandising precision, and campaign delivery standards. Develop tailored testing strategies and conversion growth objectives for each brand. Continuously track key performance indicators, responding promptly to performance gaps and emerging opportunities.

Drive the complete end-to-end process of new country entry and launch initiatives. Oversee all aspects of configuration, localization, payment processing, logistics, and order fulfillment for each target market. Proactively identify and escalate any obstacles to the appropriate stakeholders. Monitor progress and deliver comprehensive reports on expansion milestones to the Head of Digital Commerce.

As the key point of contact for Operations, Marketing, Commercial, and Customer Service within the ecommerce domain, you will facilitate seamless alignment between promotional schedules and campaign execution. In collaboration with Logistics and Customer Service, your role will involve upholding fulfillment service-level agreements (SLAs) and enhancing overall customer experience. Your responsibilities will also include ensuring that digital campaigns are accurately and effectively translated into ecommerce implementations.

Establish authority as a credible expert on Nigeria’s ecommerce landscape by delivering consistent performance reports, enriched with insightful commentary and strategic forward-looking recommendations. Proactively identify and assess regional interdependencies while mitigating potential risks before they escalate. Present ecommerce insights effectively in both cross-functional and senior leadership discussions to drive informed decision-making.

Propel ecommerce revenue growth within all operational markets in Nigeria. Uncover and leverage incremental revenue opportunities spanning brands and markets. Collaborate with the Commercial team to refine pricing, promotions, and margin strategies. Play a key role in annual planning initiatives and quarterly forecasting efforts.

Lead, mentor, and cultivate the growth of team members within the ecommerce division. Schedule and facilitate regular monthly and quarterly one-on-one meetings with direct reports. Verify that all team members maintain current and accurate Key Performance Areas (Pas) and scorecards. Provide guidance on succession planning initiatives and talent development programs.

Seeking a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in software development. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is required, along with expertise in software design principles and best practices. Experience with version control systems, including Git, and familiarity with Agile methodologies are essential. Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset are also necessary to thrive in this role.

A bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Digital, or a related discipline is required.

Postgraduate qualifications in ecommerce, Digital Marketing, or an MBA are considered advantageous.

With at least five years of hands-on experience in ecommerce management—preferably within retail or a multi-brand setting—you bring a strong history of driving and scaling online revenue across diverse markets. You possess deep expertise in digital merchandising, SEO/SEM, conversion optimization, and analytics tools, enabling data-driven decision-making. Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Commercial, Marketing, Operations, and Logistics, you excel at aligning stakeholders to achieve shared objectives. Your leadership extends to mentoring and motivating teams, ensuring high performance and growth. Familiarity with Nigeria market expansion or multi-country ecommerce operations adds significant value to your profile.
