Job Summary

We require an experienced and qualified Librarian to join our team promptly.

Key duties involve leading cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality projects on schedule, fostering collaboration among departments, and ensuring adherence to company policies and industry regulations. Additionally, the role requires analyzing performance metrics to identify trends, optimizing workflows to enhance efficiency, and providing strategic guidance to senior management based on data-driven insights. Accountability extends to managing stakeholder expectations, resolving conflicts, and maintaining transparent communication throughout all project phases. Proficiency in industry-specific tools and methodologies is essential to execute responsibilities effectively.

Organize, classify, and preserve library materials, records, and information resources efficiently and systematically. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all library assets to ensure accessibility and retrieval of information. Handle cataloging tasks with precision to support smooth library operations and enhance patron service.

Responsibilities include organizing, cataloging, and indexing books as well as other library materials, ensuring they are properly shelved and accessible to patrons.

Provide support to patrons in their efforts to find and obtain library resources and research data.

Oversee the operation and upkeep of both physical and digital library systems to ensure seamless information retrieval.

Oversee the library’s asset inventory and uphold the integrity of all materials through diligent preservation practices.

Assist patrons with research inquiries, provide reference services, and deliver information resources to support their needs.

Maintain accurate documentation and meticulous record-keeping for all library resources.

Evaluate and suggest new books, journals, and digital resources to enhance and expand the library’s collections.

Ensure the library remains consistently tidy, well-organized, and accessible to all users, fostering an inviting and efficient space for research and study.

Maintain adherence to established library policies, standards, and operational procedures to ensure consistent and effective service delivery.

Requirements

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field, supplemented by at least three years of hands-on experience in software development, IT infrastructure, or cybersecurity. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ is required, along with familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure and networking concepts. Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to continuous learning are essential. Preferred candidates will possess certifications such as Compton Security+, CISSP, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect, along with prior experience in a collaborative team environment.

Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in Library and Information Science, or

Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Library and Information Technology.

We are seeking a candidate with a proven track record in a similar role, demonstrating at least three years of hands-on experience in relevant fields. The ideal applicant will possess a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience. Familiarity with industry-standard software, tools, and methodologies is essential, along with a strong commitment to continuous learning and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in library management or information services is required.
