Support the implementation of R-DATS project development, research, monitoring, and evaluation activities.
This role offers a prime opportunity to develop substantial practical expertise in research methodologies, survey implementation, and data administration.
The NYC Survey Data Analysis Intern will be tasked with performing the following duties:
Support the execution of research initiatives, including baseline studies, impact assessments, and mid-term evaluations.
Assist in developing data collection instruments and analysis frameworks.
Collect, enter, verify, and refine data to maintain accuracy and consistency in datasets.
Ensure strict adherence to all data quality protocols throughout the processes of data collection and cleaning, thereby maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the datasets.
Oversee the collection and organization of data, perform preliminary analysis, create visual representations of findings, compile reports, and ensure timely distribution of results.
Collaborate with the RATS team to compile reports, aggregate data, and share success stories and key takeaways.
Facilitate the day-to-day coordination of research planning in alignment with established project implementation frameworks.
Perform any additional responsibilities as directed by the supervisor, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and priorities.
Requirements
A Bachelor of Science degree in Demography, Economics, Statistics, Sociology, Public Health, or other relevant quantitative disciplines is required.
Proficiency in utilizing State or SPSS for survey data analysis is a mandatory requirement.
Proficiency in quantitative analysis and experience with data visualization and statistical tools, including Tableau, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel, are essential for this role.
Proficiency in research methodologies, survey data analysis, and program monitoring and evaluation represents a valuable asset.
Proficiency in working with extensive secondary datasets—including MICS, DHS, and NARKS—is highly advantageous.
Proficient in both spoken and written English, with a commitment to precision and a meticulous approach to quality assurance.
Candidates should exhibit cultural sensitivity and a proven track record of effectively collaborating with diverse teams.
