Responsibilities
Support the implementation of R-DATS project development, research, monitoring, and evaluation activities.
This role offers a prime chance to develop substantial practical expertise in research methodologies, survey implementation, and data administration.
The NYC Survey Data Analysis Intern will be responsible for performing the following duties:
Support the execution of research initiatives, including baseline assessments, impact evaluations, and mid-term reviews.
Support the development of data collection instruments and contribute to the creation of comprehensive data analysis strategies.
Facilitate data collection processes, manage accurate data entry, perform thorough validation checks, and execute meticulous cleaning procedures to ensure data integrity and reliability.
Ensure strict adherence to all data quality protocols throughout the processes of data collection and cleaning.
Responsibilities include gathering and organizing data, conducting preliminary analysis, creating visual representations of data, compiling reports, and sharing findings with relevant stakeholders.
Collaborate with the RATS team to compile reports, aggregate data, and share success stories and key lessons learned.
Assist in organizing and coordinating day-to-day research activities in alignment with established project implementation schedules.
Perform any additional responsibilities as directed by the supervisor as needed.
Requirements
A Bachelor of Science degree in Demography, Economics, Statistics, Sociology, Public Health, or a related quantitative discipline is required.
Proficiency in applying State or SPSS for survey data analysis is a mandatory prerequisite.
Proficiency in quantitative analysis and experience with data visualization and statistical software tools, including Tableau, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel, are required.
Proficiency in executing research, analyzing survey data, and overseeing program monitoring and evaluation (M&E) is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in handling extensive secondary datasets, including MICS, DHS, and NARKS, presents a significant advantage for this role.
Proficient in both verbal and written English communication, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and meticulous attention to detail.
Cultural competence and a proven track record of thriving in collaborative environments with people from varied backgrounds.
Demonstrated capability to operate autonomously, resolve challenges efficiently, and seek necessary assistance proactively.
Demonstrates advanced skills in utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and PowerPoint.
A candidate in this role must meet the following qualifications and responsibilities: a minimum of five years of relevant experience in a similar position, along with a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Strong proficiency in project management software and advanced Excel skills are required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional problem-solving abilities, outstanding communication skills, and the capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include overseeing project timelines, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring deliverables are completed on schedule. Additionally, the position demands a proactive approach to identifying process improvements and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
