To: Head of Logistics
Reporting to the Head of Logistics, this position is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of logistics operations to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods and services. Key responsibilities include managing inventory levels, coordinating transportation, and implementing cost-effective logistics strategies. The role requires strong leadership skills to lead a team of logistics professionals, ensuring adherence to safety and compliance standards. Oversee the complete spectrum of import and export clearance processes for all shipments from start to finish.
Collaborate with customs clearance agents, shipping lines, terminal operators, and Free Zone authorities to ensure efficient cargo processing and expedited release.
Oversee and ensure the timely completion and accuracy of customs documentation and declaration procedures.
Engage collaboratively with the Oil & Gas Free Zone Authority (OGF ZA/OG ZA) and other pertinent Free Zone regulatory bodies to secure shipment approvals and ensure adherence to compliance mandates.
Coordinate the receipt of shipments and verify all associated documentation within the Free Zone to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Ensure adherence to operational protocols and import/export compliance standards within the Free Zone.
Ensure all permits, approvals, and regulatory correspondence are meticulously documented and kept up to date.
Ensure strict compliance with BES TAF Safety Management Systems protocols governing the handling, labeling, and storage of Lubricant Oil, grease, and plastic products.
Oversee adherence to environmental regulations governing the disposal and management of waste materials to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and standards.
Collaborate effectively with procurement, sales, finance, production, and warehouse teams to maintain seamless operational workflows.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and the warehouse team to ensure seamless product flow and optimal handling.
Leverage the internal logistics platform and supplementary tools to streamline operations and automate repetitive tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities include maintaining and operating equipment designed for handling diverse product types to ensure optimal functionality and reliability.
Requirement
A bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Management/Engineering, Economics, Transport Management, Business Administration/Management, or a related discipline is required.
With a minimum of two to three years of hands-on experience in logistics and supply chain operations management, you will demonstrate a strong ability to coordinate and oversee multiple third-party logistics (3PL) service providers, ensuring seamless cargo movement, adherence to delivery schedules, and full operational compliance.
Proficiency in collaborating with clearing agents, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs authorities—both domestically and abroad—along with a solid grasp of import/export documentation and customs clearance protocols is essential. Familiarity with operations within a free trade zone would further strengthen your qualifications.
Obtaining certifications such as the Certified Supply Chain Analyst (CSCA), Certified Trade Compliance Manager (CTCM), Certified International Trade and Logistics Specialist (CITES), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Logistics & Transport Professional (CLTP), or OSHA Safety Certification can significantly enhance one’s qualifications for this role.
Required Competencies include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, along with a minimum of three years of professional experience in a comparable role. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential, as is the ability to analyze complex data and derive actionable insights. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, while excellent problem-solving capabilities are required to address challenges efficiently.
